Important tip - it may be required by law in your state to say “I am Malenia, Blade of Miquela, and I have never known defeat” before pulling L2 with this build. Be on the safe said and check first so you are in compliance with the law.

How Hand of Malenia isn't S tier dex scaling is beyond me.

Note that you can also put the great turtle shield into your off hand to gain extra stamina regen, which stacks with the green turtle talisman and green burst crystal tear

You deserve every penny and more for the ridiculous amount of work you do.

Love your builds, please keep them coming!

I would be really interested to see a NG+ build for Malikeths Blackblade, I've been using it for 3 runs so far and want to see if I have a good build.

I ran a character from start to finish using Hand of Malenia (dropped via trade), and found that powerstance with a Keen Nagakiba with BHS gives a very strong play style. With some enemies, you simply don't want to commit to even a single L2 or you'll be heavily punished. You can run through areas using that move set or use running or jumping L1s on bosses where Waterfowl is likely to get you face punched, and use WFD on enemies that melt to it.

I'd also strongly, strongly second the video's advice of getting 51 poise without the Talisman (The only poise breakpoints that matter for PvE are 51 or 101; the 56 mentioned in the video is only relevant for PvP). You can simply wear the Tree Sentinel legs instead of the Cleanrot legs to keep the same look! Godskin's Swaddling Cloth is extremely powerful with Waterfowl and lets you sustain through exploration or help keep you healthier vs bosses. Turtle Talisman is always welcome as well - he's not joking when he says WFD eats stamina.

Since the character has no casting stats, consumable buffs (particularly aromatics) are really useful here. Uplifting Aromatic is an aura buff and gives a 10% physical damage boost and that one hit shield that can save your bacon. Ironjar is a body buff that gives massive poise and physical damage reduction (both important when using WFD since you're animation locked), and you effectively negate the "walk only" downside by using the forward motion of WFD. Alternate body buffs would be Exalted Flesh (for physical offense) or Boiled Crab (for physical defense).

Lastly, don't try to use Waterfowl Dance on Malenia herself... I swear that one in three times I'd try it, she'd also immediately launch one herself, even if she had just finished one. it certainly looked pretty to see our characters synchronized leap and float for a second, but I'd just be thinking "oh no, this isn't going to go well for me"!

More boss inspired and lore related builds would be cool. I really enjoyed this one!

Every time your build or weapon class review video drops it just makes me excited in a way most YouTube content never has made me in a long while. Love the aesthetic and the weapon choice! Personally I would really love to see an Endgame/NG+ build around Bloodhound Fang or Morgott's Cursed Sword, as well as Godslayer Greatsword. I feel like those get too little attention they rightfully deserve (well, besides Fang, everyone including me loves the Fang), and the scaling on this weapon helps them shine the most in NG+ or under very high stat levels in endgame.

This is one of the best builds ever, this made me come back and enjoy elden ring again after two months break, cheers,

I'm doing a Level 130 with 60Dex 20Str version on NG+5 I couldn't believe how fast I downed Melania with my mimic,

one thing I did that made my playthrough of this build so much better was only going to 60 on dex (the soft cap) then split into faith for the buffing incantations (flame grant me strength and Golden Vow) then picked up 10 vigor to hit the final soft cap, then pumped endurance. found a lot more success doing that.

Great stuff as always. Really cool looking weapon, AoW is fantastic for crowds. The no buffing is a good point and a definite selling point. I did switch to a dex only build for this weapon, but wasn't hitting as hard as I wanted so I switched to dual Godskin peeler Flame/Bleed/Frost builds and found that to take off chunks quicker and leaves me less vulnerable, but using two giant dental tools look way lamer than a giant katana held by the blade.

Build looks spot on. I played around with the Hand in the beginning of the Elden era and have wanted to go back for sometime and piece together a build, now I know where to start. Thanks for the video, Keep up the Awesome!

Great vid! I’ve wanted to use that weapon but was running into the issues you mentioned. Your tips will help!

Awesome build. I just got to the point in NG+ where I added Millicent's prothesis and I'm wrecking everything lol. You can mess around further by adding Godskin swaddling cloth and taker's cameo (plust Blasphemous blade passive ability) and you'll pretty much have constant health regen.

I use hand of malenia, love it. Waterfowl dance changes the way the game is played which is super cool.

I pair it with cold nagakiba for enemies that are tough to use waterfowl on and do the powerstance combos.
