A Beginner Guide to EDITING Text in Photoshop!

Want to learn how you can use the Text Tool in Photoshop? In this video we'll explore how you can create, edit and style your text objects in Photoshop 2021 including changing fonts, font size, spacing options and character thicknesses!

PHOTOSHOP SHORTCUTS
Text tool: T
Text position, rotation and scale options: Hold Cmd.... (Windows: Hold Ctrl)
Move tool: V
Undo: Cmd + Z... (Windows: Ctrl + Z)

✅ VIDEO SUMMARY
First find the Text Tool, to which the shortcut is "T" (for both Windows and Mac!). Next either create a Header text by pressing once on your canvas with your left mouse button, or hold and drag the left mouse button to create a container for paragraphs. You can then alter the font, font size, color and alignment of your text using the parameters at the top of your screen.

You can also rotate, position and scale your text object by holding down the "Cmd" key (or "Ctrl" for Windows) on your keyboard to bring up a box similar to Free Transform. To get more character options (including height, weight and spacing) or line spacing and bold, italics and underline options, go to "Window" and make sure "Character" is ticked. Here you will also find Superscript and Subscript options as well us UPPERCASE and Small Caps options!

I have a big problem I try everything but not work my text so so small can not seeing even if I change the size that 222ph or extra I do ctr T or transform go to scale nothing change or when I use scale start to be big size never catch what should I do?

I'm very new to PS and finding your tutorials very helpful indeed. I'm having a problem selecting my text in an image if I want to change a few things. I'm following your instructions and they're not working for me..when I click, for example, to drag across my text to select it as I would normally do, all that happens is that I get another box with the sample words in. Likewise if I double click the text itself. There's obviously some setting I'm missing here...can you help me?

How did you get the canvas background to look like that? Usually its small gray/white checkerboard.

I'm having an issue where I just have a background layer. I want to type on top of that. When I do the entire background turns red. I type. And then when I am done it is just now part of the background and appears to be masked or traced. I cannot edit it and it does not create a new layer. Do you have any ideas what is going on?

i have created text box, and how i can align text to horizontal center of this box? wanna get text bot from the top of the box. in Illustrator i see this feature but i cant find it in photoshop:(
