I am from Yemen and and I was educated in Damascus Syria in the 1980s. I received a degree in Internal medicine. All expenses were paid by the Syrian government. I will be indebted to The Syrian government and people forever. The Syrian people are resilient, they will overcome the current obstacle. May allah protect Syria and its people. 🙏

I am following the Mark Wiens Middle East tour on YT and it's amazing.
For people of Syria who are reading this, I am an American and I love you all. I will visit Syria someday to experience your culture in person. I am impressed with your happiness, your talent and your self-respect and pride for your culture. Thank you.

As a Jordanian neighboring Syria I can say that the Syrian menu is the best in the Arab world

The mosque was unlike anything I have ever seen. Just beautiful. Never saw ice cream being made like that. That's real food, not like the junk we get in states. 🌻

As a Syrian man from Aleppo who has spent more than 25 years of my life outside Syria, these episodes brought tears to my eyes. One day we will return to Syria to build a greater and more beautiful future for our beloved Syria.

Oh Mark! What a series we are having at present. The name Damascus itself is nostalgic and takes one back to history ... Hope the war in Syria is over and all back to Normal...Syrians are one of the best people Ive interacted with.... They dont deserve war.. (In fact no one)

Wow! Don't want this Syrian food series to end! Amazing people and hospitality of Syria. They deserve to get their due share of respect and proaperity from the global community. The last cafe was amazing. We need more such places to revive and crop up all over the world to save their own traditions and cultures.

I never watch the media, or the news, as I know that incredible countries such as Syria & Lebanon, etc; are so often "intently" painted in a very negative light, but in absolute "truth", when you make a real life personal visit to such countries, you quickly come to see, that the media was very wrong.

Syria oh Syria, how I love you & your amazing, sweet, very welcoming & hospitable peoples. The "peoples" are what makes Syria so very special. They're some of the world's genuinely friendliest.

From the rich history, to the beautiful culture, to the most incredible foods & such a deliciously varied cuisine, to the beautiful historic architecture, the gorgeous streets, old accommodation & scenery abound & so much more, are some of the "many" reasons, why a visit to Syria will never ever disappoint.
You are such an unfairly "underrated" country yet you shouldn't be whatsoever.
I love the saying, "You will never ever go hungry in Syria".
And I will add, that you will never get bored/run out of foodie choices, with the amazing selection of high quality food on offer abound.

This was very enjoyable viewing, so much so, that I will watch multiple times over.

I wish all the lovely people of Syria, ongoing peace for the future & only the very best that this life has to offer.🙏

you deserve a million likes for this video about Syria. Please, Mark, make it a long series. You can't imagine the happiness we feel watching it, seeing the landmarks and the food from back home. Thank you for showcasing the beauty of Syria and the hospitality of the Syrians, especially after the hardships they've endured.

I've seen a lot of Mark's vids, but I wanna say that Rami is the best guide that has ever helped Mark to explore a city or food. God Bless you, Rami. You have a perfect vibe, good knowledge, and a great attitude. Thank you!

So as a person that admires & appreciates fine arts, architecture, historical events, & crafts, this episode is very special and fascinating. The chapel's pillars and ceilings are so beautiful as well as the shrines & courtyards. What a well documented treasure Mark displayed and captured a past to present aspect of this majestic city. This is a side of Syria we Americans don't see notice other than the military presence & humanitarian crisis. So I highly appreciated this episode bringing us the beauty and contrasting the quality value of this ancient colorful collections of Syrians majestic monuments. Wishing you safe travels and blessings always!! Cheers!! 🥑🍯🍦☕🍵
