How Easy Is It To Hover A Helicopter?

Looking at the windsock it was blowing at least 15 knots and she was also hovering in a cross wind so not bad flying for a learner. I bet it was a lot easier when they were heading into wind.

Hi training he did good and now I have 1800 hrs in many machines, light on peddle and cyclic feel the disk and anticipate what the helis is doing next and feel for it I am in a 130 at pres and thoes helis are the most stable in the air but good luck

I.m sorry my last comment was cruel!  Hovering in wind is terrible!  I have only had two instruction lessons, but I have flown RC helicopter since 1996, so I kind of got the idea as to how hard it is to hover a real helicopter, but flying them is easy!  That includes the real helicopters too.  Once you get them over 45 MPH they fly like a scalded ape!.

I got my biggest dissapointment when I flew a R44 with hydraulic assist, it was too sensitive for me!

You were flying a Turbine engined helicopter, now that has to be a big step up, that I have not tried out yet, but soon!

Nice video! Some people are quite harsh. Might only be her first hover. I am 3 hours in and flying the Cabri G2. You pick it up so quickly and today(Lesson 3) did a hover taxi and landing. I know I am at the beginning but I can see myself getting better. That monster grip on the hands and feet is a tough nut to crack lol

All that wind noise is from the helicopter itself, notice none of the bushes are moving, new pilot.

very poor handling if i may say, and is that aviation fuel tank i see, you must be in the usa cos you would not be allowed to do this in the uk

My instructor would had failed me, to much peddle, and not enough ground consentration., spot the ground, go light on the cycle in compasation to movement, I did it and had the heli perfect level and settled it down , but good, girls
