It used to be that I turned to your channel for some dark stories. Now I turn to your channel from the scary world we're living in. Either way I'm grateful for your work...

Moon eyes. Thanks, Josh.
The Appalachian trail is going straight onto the "Hell, no" list of places to hike or camp. 😄

My husband and I were just watching a documentary about Blue Eyed people. As we were watching my husband said you know apes and people are the only beings that turn and look behind them when being chased. That lead into our conversation about what he seen the night we were camping in the woods and took off running. Seeing the look on his face was enough for me to not want to turn around but run. And that is what I did, telling myself do not turn around just keep running. He said he seen a huge shadow but could not make out what he was seeing . Neither of have any idea what we felt watching us but we lost four hours in what felt like minutes . That part is an even bigger mystery to me than the shadow itself. The woods I am refferring to is along Shoal Creek in Austin Texas.

Factoid: Since 1974, there have been 13 murders along the Appalachian Trail and every year about 6 people go missing while walking this trail.

We have rules when we go camping.
1- keep within site of at least one other person
2- never whistle at night.
3- keep silver on you, silver crosses and bullets are recommended.
4- keep a firearm on you at all times
5- save some campfire ash.
6- if you have a strange feeling like someone is watching you, sound seems to quite, or a scense of heightened alertness, tell others and be aware of your surroundings.
7- if you hear a voice calling out to you never answer back or go looking for the origin of said voice, especially at night.
Finally 8- never go camping alone.

I am from these mountains and please believe me: deer can come up out of nowhere, make guttural sounds in your ear, and disappear. Biology is wild, sound travels in strange ways in rocky areas. Two of my mother’s friends were shot in their tent, however…areas closest to accessible trailheads are the most dangerous. The farther into the wild you are, the safer. Except of course broken legs and snakebites and bacteria…the things you knew were a risk.

The Appalachian trail seems like a great place to go if you’re trying to get ripped apart or fall off the face of the Earth😅

Being born and raised in West Virginia. I can say being in the woods late at night can mess with you hearing things you've never heard before. I'm 47 and get surprised every now and then wondering what I hear.

Hey Josh, thank you for your efforts in all your content!!! I never knew that the Appalachian Trail ran all the way up to Newfoundland, thought it ended in Maine!!! Ive never traveled on it but have lived a hr or 2, car ride, from a few entry points... I personally think that the Govt made National Parks for CRYPTIDS to live in, hence all the disappearences in National Parks across the country... I mean numbers speak for themselves
