There is absolutely nothing more terrifying than being in the middle of no where and seeing another human being.

They forgot the most important rule. Always carry a firearm

Also remember folks, if ever you are in the woods (doesnt matter where) and nature suddenly falls silent, that means there is an apex predator nearby. Bear, cougar, bobcat, etc... Draw your firearm, stand your ground, and be ready. Nature will not "pause sound" for humans, but will for predatory animals. Listening, being prepared, and staying vigilant will save your life. Also, NEVER venture out without a firearm. As Woody from Toy Story said, "If you don't have one, GET one"

Never go out the woods at night is good advice no matter what woods you go to.

lmao, I just went outside with my house covered in forest at dark for about 30 minutes to take pics of the northern lights, I heard bugs go silent so I calmly went inside.

Truth about humans🎯🔥 The most horrific things done on the Appalachian Trail are by other humans

🤣🤣🤣🤣 as someone who was born and raised here, I about laughed my @ss off! Also, despite being funny, there's a fair amount of truth to it as well! Plus, the tone and accent of the narration makes it even better!

Uh, from the sonoran desert, here. Same thing out in the 'desert'... hearing little whistles means you're about to be kidnapped. The kidnapper is either cartel or a witch that shapeshifts into a giant bird...

I hike everyday in the Appalachian mountains I am from these parts and I can tell you that our forests are far more blessed then cursed. It’s safe to whistle in the woods and I’ve gone on plenty of walks at night. While I have heard some strange things If you simply ignore them it’s not a bother.

As someone who grew up and has lived in the Appalachian countryside, I can say this is all pretty accurate, the only thing is you might not need to use these a lot since it’s not common to see super dangerous things like mountain lions, the only thing that is common is a coyote or a snake such as a Copperhead here and there. But the things like don’t go outside alone after dark, leave your windows closed after dark, and then the things like “seeing something strange” or “hear something calling your name” is all just paranoia from being in the woods

And if you read this comment, no you didn’t

The real reason you dont wanna run if you're being stalked by a wild animal is because it will trigger their attack instinct.
It's different depending on the animal, but if you're being stalked, it's probably an ambush predator.

Turn around and make eye contact and begin backing aways slowly. Raise your arms and maybe spread your legs a bit to make yourself look bigger and more threatening.
Loud noises too

And also, like the video said, don't look away. Stay locked on til your safe

My grandma always told me not to whistle at night nor play with my shadow on the wall, she said it would attract bad entities

As someone who's lived in Appalachia their whole life please don't believe some of these, the most dangerous things out here are black bears and hillbillies
