The gun should be checked by every person who handles the gun on set. Even if you KNOW that it's unloaded or a fake gun. You still check every time.

Prop guns on movie sets are supposed to be checked before and after every single time the gun changes hands between two people and there isn’t supposed to be any live ammunition on set at all.

While the person who ultimately fired the gun (Baldwin) needs to share some of the responsibility, that armorer chick was clearly totally irresponsible and not at all 'with it.' More reason that he should have checked and double checked the firearm himself.

I don’t understand this ! Who put a live bullet in that gun ?! Maybe someone didn’t like Baldwin and set him up .. I’d be looking for the person who loaded the gun and gave it to Alec saying it was cold . Yes his mistake was not checking the gun, which he should of done . He trusted the people in charge of the firearm !

What on earth did Baldwin do wrong? If the policy on set was for an armorer to check the gun before it’s not his responsibility so confused why everyone’s so confident it’s his fault

I never really cared for him as an actor or a person. However, as someone who handles firearms all the time, I do agree with the statement that you never point a gun at anyone, even if it is unloaded. I do have a problem with that theory or statement though on a movie set. Go and watch any movie with guns in it, every single movie ever made with guns and it has actors pointing guns at each other. That’s what I’m not understanding here. We can pick on him for having his finger on the trigger. we can try to dissect every move he made, I am absolutely blown away by the fact there was a live round In a gun on a movie set. I by far think that this is a Much bigger problem and news story Than the actions of Alec Baldwin.

You will never convince me in a million years that a live round accidentally ended up in the gun... i'm not saying Baldwin did this, i'm saying someone else definitely did. Idk their motivations but there is NO WAY a live round makes its way to the set and gets mixed in with dummies unless someone wanted it to.

This same bs happened with Brandon Lee and it was the same thing, someone intentionally put a real bullet into play.

A live round ended up in that gun. The question is how did it get there? Was Alec set up? Was the same gun being used for shooting practice and then somehow accidently ended up in Alec's hand? Was the gun switched? Who put that bullet in that gun?

At the bare minimum, whoever loaded the live round (I assume the armorer as handling the gun was her responsibility) should be criminally charged with something.
