In my opinion it’s worth selling the car privately or selling it to a dealership as your car is worth atleast 53-55k instead of trading it in to Tesla.

Considering Jack said that the model 3 was his dream car I'd be surprised if he trades it in for a model Y, I get that he makes enough for it but it doesn't seem worth it unless he suddenly decides he's going to go on loads of camping trips and that his new dream car is the model Y cause the only upgrade is the boot space everything else is a downgrade imo but we'll see what happens, if I was in this position (I mean I wish I had a Tesla but here I am with my 2006 ford fiesta) I would just wait for the cybertruck or try and save for my dream car which is the model X

Here in the US there’s now a monthly subscription available for FSD…not sure if it’s available there yet, but the speed at which you trade cars, that’s likely the more cost efficient option, and would allow you to make that content when you wanted. I’d vote yes, because I think the Y would make for a more comfortable road trip car, you could explore camping more, etc. That said, your garage is tiny so from a practical standpoint, it may not work! Hey jack! So i looked up into the Tesla model Y and I am quite on a conclusion here. The model Y has larger seats, and a ton more space inside the car and the interior is almost the same as the Model 3. The only thing you actually get by upgrading is a larger space and a few new cool features. As you mentioned in the video, you get less range off the model Y. I do not think upgrading would be a good decision as the model Y is just like higher memory version for any phone. You will also have to loose auto pilot for just larger space. These are just my thoughts on this but the rest of the decision is up to you. Love your content <3

I don't think that this is widely known, but we're already actually doing the sentiment of what this question is asking. If you trade in your Tesla to Tesla, we -- there's a difference in price that we pay for a trade-in that has FSD compared to one that doesn't. And so there's that premium that we pay to repurchase the FSD. That money can then be applied toward the purchase of a new car.

So I just - you know, we hear this feedback quite a bit. We see it on social media. We see it in the forums, etc. And so this already does exist, not directly in the form here and we don't call it out explicitly in the trade-in potentially that we have increased the price of your trade-in as a result.

And hopefully, this clears this up because we do actually do that.

After owning both the tesla model 3 SR+ and model Y here in USA, I can definitely tell you that Model Y far better car in terms of comfort and space. Inside tech experience is exactly same. I do feel more road visibility in Model Y. The extra height is so comforting and feels safe.
For you I will not recommend to get a model Y by selling your model 3 LR with FSD. FSD is so good and worth the investment specially after beta releases. For an EV biggest trouble is range. One should go for maximum range possible while choosing an EV for purchase. Yes Tesla super chargers are there but they are now getting crowded in very popular areas time waste due to that is so annoying.
If you are really want to go for an SUV experience with Tesla cars go for Model X or wait for cyber truck.

Just something you should know, the induction wheels make the ride quality really bad, Ryan Shaw has mentioned this so many times, he even changed his suspension and got the standard wheels after buying the induction wheels

Agreed FSD should be transferable. Some UK Tesla youtubers have had a trade in price before and after adding FSD and the price went up

The base wheels for the Model Y in the US have decent-looking alloy wheels underneath the aero covers. If you remove the covers and get a cap kit for the open center and lug nuts, it actually looks pretty nice without having to pay for the more expensive wheels.

I’ve been driving a Model Y for a little over a year and it’s hands down the best car I’ve ever been in. That includes Model 3! Model 3 is super nice but something about Model Y makes it feel a lot more premium. You will have absolutely no regrets if you purchase it. And as for the extra cargo space, you might find that you would use it a lot more than you think. That’s what happened with me!

Keep the model 3, the model Y won't fit into your garage. The only new Tesla you should be looking at getting is the Plaid, by the time it's out you should have the money for it :)

The model Y is amazing! You probably don’t use the backseats much but the legroom is amazing, super cool armrest and cup holder and great design. The front is very similar to a model 3, just better… amazing car. Would recommend
