Before people complain that its slow: Speed comes last with such development. Also since it can run 24/7 without breaks, it doesn't even need to reach human speed to beat us.

This is the dial up internet age for these robots and most people alive today might not even know what that is 2 decades later.

That's crazy how he corrects himself.

Now come and do my laundry and dishes!
Impressive the low tolerances & self-correcting already! Can't wait for more/better functionality.

The way it pushed the part into place with a flick of its wrist looked so human. Good job, guys!

So exciting to be living in the future! It's gonna be very interesting to see the new developments in robotics!

It’s only a matter of time until this guy is pulling up in a crappy Honda civic with your pizza.

1:00 , 1:12 "one small self correction of robot, a giant leap toward ASI". it feels i belong to this era to see all these.

Impressive, as always, Thank you for what you do!

I do not want to go full hater because it is genuinely impressive what is done here, but like: Look at where the cuts are in the video. Look at it all being done on a very controlled environment where it's singular stamped pieces being kept in a specific place. Notice how the full use case is pick and place. Notice how they don't show you how it was trained (just to say the training process probably isn't what you think it is). This shit is cool as hell but it is Not what most of you probably think it is, and not nearly as far along as you probably think it is. Flipping through their job listings I'm now very confident in saying that.

Watching it knock that panel into its correct place was wild for no reason 😅

In some programs they are on the right track, self-correction, etc. the approach makes even the simplest movements a big challenge for programming.

Figure and Boston Dynamics are making some of the best androids out there. Wouldn’t surprise me if these were walking around in public in ~20 years time.

As a chinese, why am i so excited?Because it mapped directly, which is end to end.Its surely a 0 to 1 breakthrough, showcasing that end to end have huge potential not only in selfdriving, but also in huaman shaped robot! As the saying gose less is more, I believe this robot company are working on the right path, comparing to those pursuing speed while making the program more and more complicated.Because When we can do 0 to 1, 1 to 100 is only a problem about improving the network and the chip.

I'm feeling good about the current progress, but something still seems off. The robots from different companies all have very rigid movements. It feels like they're combining individually learned single actions. I believe that, following the transformer model, robots should repeatedly learn various actions to a level similar to GPT-3, and then use RLHF to correct and achieve specific goal-directed actions. Currently, the level of robots is somewhat like Tesla's Auto Pilot rather than FSD.

Congrats from all of us who had to do robotic jobs, wishing for a better more passionate dayspending. ❤
