What If Majin Vegeta didn't knock out Goku in the Buu Saga?

The Goku and Vegeta rematch in Dragon Ball Z was one of the most memorable fights in the Dragon Ball Z anime. I say the anime since it wasn’t much of a fight in the manga and more so acted as a side piece to the actual plot. However, that doesn’t change the impact this fight had on the plot of the Majin Buu Arc. The fight itself is what fueled Buu’s resurrection, which also led to Vegeta’s death. However, that death was entirely avoidable. Very simply, Vegeta made a mistake when he knocked out Goku. That does leave us with a question though. What would have happened had Vegeta worked together with Goku like he suggested? What if Majin Vegeta and Goku worked together to defeat Majin Buu?

I wondered for another what if, what if Vegeta actually stopped being a warrior after the cell saga like he said. I tried to look for a video and nobody has seemed to go over this. If you find one please send me a link, I’m very interested in how that would effect the other sagas

The only issue is the "shared knowledge" bit. When Goten and Trunks were asked how they felt being fused, they said they had no idea - they couldn't remember. Gotenks/Vegito/Gogeta DO possess the shared knowledge of the people they are fused from, but the people who fused don't take the Fusion's memory with them.

Unless this has since been retconned.

One thing which did change was. Goten and Trunks aren't as reliant on fusion anymore, which presents a chance that they would work on themselves individually and would become waay stronger than they are in the current canon. And the fusion will also not give them a bloated ego into their individual characteristics which will Allow them to progress quicker in their training. This would open up possibilities of goku and vegeta actually taking interest in training their kids and making them stronger. Which would give a chance for them to attain god ki and other amazing powers.

If memories and knowledge are shared during fusion (which makes sense to me, though Toriyama might've not accounted for this), why doesn't Vegeta learn of Kaioken, what it does, and master it for himself? I honestly could see him at least trying Kaioken in the ToP if this were the case.

It's weird that Goku only had one Senzu because Vegeta says "Get out your Senzu beans. *We* should be at full power if we are to face that monster." Which heavily implies Goku had two.
