I have a friend in Peru, she works for a company that treats their workers like SHEIN does, I said, we should force them to shut down because of the mistreatment, but I did not expect her to answer this. "I like working here. If this company shuts down, I will end in the streets". 😢

The thing you don't realize is that every store does this 😅

Why are you mad at SHEIN like you realize H&M and forever 21 do this kind of stuff to but no one talks about it.

The problem is that local businesses and ethical sellers are charging like £100 for a basic jumper, you can buy the same thing for £15 from a Chinese manufacturer,

what if you buy from SHEIN because its cheap and you can't afford it anywhere else..?

I used to have a very similar holier than thou attitude about stuff like this too. But then I got divorced and then trusted the wrong "friend" to help me get on my feet and I got assaulted and pregnant from it and lost the baby and then had an emotional breakdown and couldn't perform my job so then I got fired and became homeless and penniless and even more depressed. I didn't have health insurance, I couldn't get therapy or medication to help. I slowly had to crawl out of the rut that I fell into, and I finally was able to get another job. McDonald's in my late 20s. I felt horrible about myself. But having a little bit of money to spend on some new things I desperately needed helped me out of rhat. And here's the thing, I would rather have 6 things for 80 dollars than 1 blouse that would probably be bought from another brand in the mall that does the exact same things as this company does. Is it horrible? Yes. I literally think "Who made my clothes? How is there life going?" Every time I put something on and then I silently wish them well. But the reality is, unless you are rich, buying clothing items directly from small businesses is just not feasible. You can make your own clothing, true, but that's not an option for everyone. That takes time and space and money and skill and ability. Even thrifting clothing from a Goodwill or Salvation Army isnt really a safe choice anymore because those huge organizations are corrupt and also greedy and in it for profit. I think the best thing you can do, is get what you need, even if you just need to feel cute and good in your own skin, don't hoard clothes and if you don't like something you bought or don't wear it anymore, donate it directly to someone that would like it or a local charity shop or recycle the fabric for other things. H&M takes scrapped clothing and recycles the fabric! Lastly take good care of what you DO buy, and wear them out (or give away) before you get something new.

You never know someone's situation so shaming them for buying "fast fashion" is a judgemental and privileged thing to do. You can be conscious of the impact that over consumerism has on the environment and the unethical practices of it all and still do what you need to do in order to have what you need and also do your part where you can.

(I was down to two sweaters, one pair of pants, 2 pairs of shoes and like 5 pairs of *cleaned* but very old panties and 2 bras that were literally being safety pinned together. Literally that's it.)

You forgot the fact that the clothes contain traces of lead 😮

I know some stuff about shein. Okay so they support child labour, they do it in a country near india. In that country child labour is legal. They make the kids do really dangerous jobs like using fire to make ripped jeans. The workers there are very underpayed and earn about two dollars a day. In shein, several people have found writing on their tags saying "help me" there are a bunch of videos about, like this one. Also, their quality stinks and lasts like two days. And like it said in the video its bad for the earth. I think shein has gotten on the news because of this. I dont know if you guys heard of temu, but im pretty sure they do the same exact thing.

Same with Temu. I've finally broken free from my addiction and am committed to buying only what I need, second hand if possible or borrowing/renting instead. #minimalism

PLEASE ATLEAST READ SOME OF THIS: It is important to note that many sources have reported on the poor working conditions and low wages for workers who produce clothing for Shein. Additionally, there have been concerns about the quality and safety of Shein's products, including traces of lead. It is also concerning to hear allegations of child labor and abuse in Shein's supply chain. These are serious issues that should not be ignored. It is up to individuals to decide whether or not to support companies that engage in such practices. It is always important to do research and make informed decisions about where to spend your money.

At this point what’s the difference between buying cheap clothes from child labor and expensive clothes from child labor and pedos, you’re dammed either way unless you wanna spend $50 a shirt from an American made company.

My fifth grade teacher used to do very unique arts and crafts, However, she stopped because shein found her and other artists work and took that as their own design . because shein is so big the lawsuits that have been filed eventually get nowhere. its sad because not everyone understands that people younger than them are working with bleeding fingers not even making enough money to buy basic needs #boycottshein

Bro no way the comments are like "Why are you guys mad at Shein when other companies did it too".. no way y'all are defending Shein like this. We get it! Other horrible company did this to. But just because we don't talk about them, doesn't mean we don't care what they did too! Stop buying from Shein (and those other companies), guys. If y'all want cheap stuffs, just THRIFT!

U guys, the other fast fashion brand that do this too r also a problem, shein is a very extreme case tho. So many, even expensive brands, mistreat workers and produce low quality items, like Nike and Gucci.

Y’all realize that a lot of the clothing brands do that too right? Like I get the shein does it to an extreme level but come on now, I’m not saying that what they are doing is good.

Fraudulent business practices should be there second name now!!! I have had a terrible experience with Shein recently they are not delivering my order worth $500 and neither are they refunding back my money, there customer service is pathetic & rude. I have a whole chat thread saved with there customer service agent "Kiame" who says upfront we are not responsible for your lost order and will not refund
