Key insights of this video:
1. Mental health care should be seen as an investment in yourself, and is now more important than ever.
2. Therapy has moved away from traditional models (e.g. sitting on the couch with no eye contact) to a person-centered approach.
3. Creative expression can be used to express the unexpressed, often associated with feelings of shame.
4. A Therapist's role is to actively listen and build a rapport with the client.
5. Learning to set boundaries and take responsibility for oneself is essential for good mental health.
6. Courage is needed to dig deep and explore difficult topics.
7. The work done in therapy should ultimately lead to the client being able to "fly solo" without needing to rely on the therapist's help.
8. Social media can lead us to look for external gurus to help us, when in fact, nobody knows us better than ourselves.
9. It is important to think about yourself and prioritize yourself on your list.
10. Opting into a therapeutic relationship can be life-changing and beneficial to both the individual and those around them.

most people that I know that need therapy must first admit they have a problem but they will never admit that because that would mean that they have been wrong for most of their life.

*Therapist:* Don't say "yes" every time someone asks you for a favor; learn to say "no." Will you do that for me?
*Me:* Umm ... no? Yes? I'm so confused 😵

If anyone has any input on this, I'm all ears.

I started therapy to do just that: invest in myself and make sure I am supported, mostly regarding my job (teaching). I do it to maintain my mental health. But according to many talks I've heard, therapy should lead to the client being able to "fly solo", which is something I'm absolutely capable of. I use therapy to discuss minor problems in my life, or to bounce perspectives off with someone on certain situations. So now I am kind of confused. Should I stop therapy because I don't have a specific goal with it?

How or what if then the patient hv "Special Feeling" to his/her Therapist?

Is it "Health" for the patient?

If it is Not health,
Then, is it better for the patient looking for another Therapist? Although perhaps that patient already feel "Matching" with that his/her Therapist, mean that patient must begin to adaptating again when must changing with another Therapist?

The one thing I learnt from therapy was that I have to sort it out myself. That’s why they’re called MY PROBLEMS.

Wait so we have to watch a video on what to expect from therapy versus going to a therapy session and directly experiencing it? HAVE YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE.

Nobody is born with anxiety. It's given to you. Face it, you've been indoctrinated.

What to expect? 1. To have to bank account emptied. 2. To be asked over and over about your childhood and 3. To be asked over and over again, 'How do you feel about that?'. Pseudo science that often does far more harm than good. If I want to invest in myself I will head off into the bush for a couple of weeks and just relax. Therapy is simply a big con.

“What to expect from therapy”

1. Validation of your worst impulses
2. Seeking help for depression and being pressured into “coming out” as an lgbt identity that you don’t align with
3. Being told that capitalism is the cause of your issues
