When it comes down to it, both cameras are great. You just have to think about what means more to you: the ease of using a camera and just getting the shot effortlessly, or video quality above all else, bearing in mind that both still have great video quality even though one is better than the other.

I've been blown away by what my Pocket 2 can do... it's great for shots too close for the GoPro and also for anything indoors or low light. It's also one of the most discrete cameras to walk around in public with. I actually think that a Pocket 2, *and* an action camera (plus your phone) make a great team as they all compliment each other. The Pocket is a very under rated camera IMHO.

I wish everyone did what you did here in the intro, a comparison without saying which is which. It can be really hard to overcome one's preconceptions when choosing between products, and examples like this reveals what you really like, at least for me who appreciates image quality. I am a proud owner of both the Action 3 and Pocket 2 and love them both for what I do on my channel @WanderEats where I use the Action 3 for everything except low light when I switch to the Pocket 2. For long walks where I can't be sure if the light is consistent, I would use the Pocket 2 as well. So far it works wonderfully.

Another super video, Tamara. For me, one big advantage of the Action 3 would be the weather-proofing, since I spend a lot of time on the beach. I don't think the Pocket 2 would last long without getting ruined by sand. And as a friend found with his Pocket 2, dropping it into water finished it off, whereas the Action 3 would have been fine. Both cameras are amazing, however, and far better than we could have imagined such small items to be a decade or two ago. Keep up the great work!

Great comparison video! So... it depends on your use.. I've been using Pocket2 for over a year and it always did his job perfectly. Neverthless, the FOV isn't enough wide for most situations, that's why I'm getting the OA3 (wider FOV + Battery life).

Having used the pocket 2 I sold it due to my fear of snapping it’s head off and the tiny screen I just couldn’t work with.
The action 3 is on my wish list.

I noticed in the update on Action 3 the ability to adjust external mic gain levels very easily. Odd it wasn't in the release notes. Kind of a game changer.

I really love my Osmo Action 3, Today I finally got to test it out making a snow plowing video in low light and it performed amazing. Pocket 2 is a really great gimbal camera but I find it too light makes my b-rolls more shaky.
