I really like the modularity and portability of Action 2. I also uploaded some reviews on it. I think the heating issue is the main reason for switching back to the old design.

As much as i like the fact you have reverted back to the original design and love a lot of the new features.
The key flaws are as follows-
1. You need to make the charging door operate differently so that you dont have to remove it to attach external mics
2. Have a mic 3.5mm input there also so we can use any type of mic such as rode directional mics etc
3. A bigger sensor would have been the best feature as low light performance isnt the best
I hope these are included for next years model

My biggest issue with my original osmo action hasn't been changed, which is the focus distance. In a vlog type scenario the background is incredibly crisp, sharp (not over sharp) and beautiful, but the person is a touch softer, not really out of focus, but it's near the limit and it's so noticeable to me. This bums me out because I was hoping it would be better. Fixed focus on action cams make sense for most of it's uses, but it would be so nice to have it an option to change focus, or fixed.

Great Review.Seems like the same camera as the Action 2 just redesigned. I just got the Action 2 about 1 month ago. I don't use it in extreme conditions or for longer period of times. I think I'm going to stick with the Action 2 because I love its unique design

Wow i only just reviewed it the action 2 and absolutely loved the compact size and magnetic stuff. However wasn't impressed on the battery and overheating 😭
This seems like a nice upgrade 🤠

Thanks for the review. Lately, DJI action 3 camera users have been complaining about poor focus, do you think this is a factory defect? Does your camera have focus problems?

Wauw! I am so excited to discover this! I am still using the original Osmo Action for my Motovlog and I wasn't happy about the modular system with OA2. This is exactly what I need! The increased battery time and widescreen with 120 FPS is perfect!

I actually like the footage of Action 2 + the size being smaller as well is much ideal than this new outdated design on the osmo 3.

I’m using the Action 2 on my race bike clipped discretely under my bike computer to film when I’m crit racing. It’s size is perfect for that as it’s all about aerodynamics. I’ve also used it on a gravel race but the problem with anything but a short race is battery life and the internal storage of the Action 2. While this Action 3 looks to have fixed those limitations to some extent the larger form factor isn’t going to suit criterium racing.

Nice comparison review! I was once attracted and then frustrated by the modular Action 2. And the Action 3 without 1 inch sensor doesn't seem convincing enough. Personally I would prefer the latest Insta360 X3 which has more and better new features, and the change of aspect ratios is nothing new in 360 camera as X3.

Your videos are awesome mann, i use to watch your videos before updating my camera, i bought the Dji action 2 ( 8 months back and its still unique❤❤, i prefer to buy 1 more Dji action 2 as it is comfortable for me for my job.

Seems like they reused the Action 2 in another optimized housing - like that. Furthermore it seems accesories are resuable because of same? quick release. I am very satisfies with my Action 2 - but this would be a useful upgrade if it will be necessary in futere.
