Whilst based at Scampton I managed to get a few trips in Vulcans.Before you could go flying you needed a medical and a trip down to the crew trainer.The crew trainer consisted of the crew compartment of the Vulcan housed in an appropriate size building.You would meet at this location with a number of the rear crew and climb aboard the crew trainer.Once you were all strapped into your position within the the crew trainer you would go through the drill several times as if there was an emergency.As always there was a set procedure if I remember rightly once the door opened I was the second one out through the door which now was a slide.It was pointed out to me what to do if the gear was down mind that nose gear.What memories
