Ok so Batman is a character that I've always been fascinated with.

I've collected hundreds of graphic novels for the character, platinumed all of the Arkham Games several times and poured over every film and tv show starring the Dark Knight that I could find ever since I was a kid.

What I've always loved about the character is that he's someone who can be molded to fit almost any message that you want to put across but at the heart of him there still remains the fundamental belief that Justice must be upheld.

Whether it's the campness of the 1966 version, the darker more gothic Tim Burton takes, Lego Batman, The Animated Series, The Dark Knight Returns or the grounded Nolan films, every iteration of him feels valid.

Now I'm kind of ashamed to admit it but when Robert Pattinson was first announced as playing the character I shook my head and thought like many that we'd be getting a twilight-esque take aimed at teens. At the time DC had massively changed Zack Snyder's vision into becoming the abomination that was Josstice league and I wrongly assumed that they'd taken Ben Affleck out of the role to make things more like the MCU.

However, every single trailer, every single TV Spot has made me realise that I couldn't have been more wrong and the upcoming Batman film in my eyes has the potential to be one of the best comic book movies ever made.

In every interview that Matt Reeves gives it just seems like he gets it and when looking online at comic books the other day, I came across the collection of graphic novels that is releasing alongside the film.

This includes Batman Year One, The Long Halloween and also Ego.

The first of those tells the story of James Gordon transferring to Gotham whilst Bruce Wayne arrives home after his years training abroad. Together the pair learn to put their differences to the side and come the end of it they form an alliance that will help to take down corruption in the city.

The Long Halloween is one of my favourite graphic novels of all time and this murder mystery focuses on Batman stopping a mysterious killer called Holiday from carrying out attacks on the mob.

The book very much inspired The Dark Knight and this Year Two story feels like the closest thing we'll ever get to the Godfather being adapted into a superhero story.

Lastly is Ego, something that I was surprised to see in the line-up but after thinking about it it makes a lot of sense.

The Darwyn Cook story follows Batman failing to stop one of the Joker's henchmen from ending his own life instead of facing up to his boss for failing.

Dark, twisted, evil, and brutal stories are what society tends to lean towards. Having a brutal and unimaginably evil, elusive serial killer as a villain with grounded and relatable (more realistic) writing, this will be the best one yet and I truly hope that if it is good, this turns into a trilogy just like Christopher Nolan's masterpiece of a trilogy.

I was happy when Pattinson was announced. He had already left Twilight in the dust and had been in a few movies that saw him receive really good reviews for his acting. I also had a good feeling Matt Reeves knew exactly what his vision for Batman was and it wasn’t going to be Bruce as a teen heartthrob. I can’t wait for this movie. Looks beautiful! I really liked Bale and Affleck in the role and I’m sure Pattinson will be awesome too. Hurry up, March!

Bro this is without a doubt the most I’ve been excited to see any movie not just a superhero/comic book adaptation ever!! Spider-Man No Way Home was amazing but now it’s time to step out of the little boys room and to start peeing with the big dogs !!! PERFECTLY explained, every aspect of this movie so far looks like Matt Reeves is creating the most authentic, defined live-action interpretation of Batman and his unique version of Gotham that actually resembles the gothic, art deco nightmare from BTAS, Burton films and of course the comics rather than a generic modern metropolis and which will be even further fleshed out in the spin-off GCPD and Penguin shows respectively.

We're finally getting a purely Batman-POV story where his detective skills and troubled complex psyche that made the character one of the most complex and enduring in comic history and they'll be fully explored instead of taking a backseat like usual in service of fleshing out the villains in favor of the actual protagonist. Not meaning that The Riddler won't likely be given complex, fleshed out motivations and backstory; you don't hire Paul Dano to play a one-note villain of course which speaking of, another reason this film feels so prestigious compared to other comic-book movies is canvas of talent on display here.

It's not just another great cast but one that's taking this story seriously and giving A-level performances that might match their work on their other original, "Oscar-y" type projects which will hopefully lend an air of authenticity to this fresh, new world Reeves is creating and who knows? Might put The Batman in contention with the best films of the year at the award shows. I just can not wait for this movie and the definitive Batman rendition it seems like it''ll be giving us.

Likewise, I was not empathetic to Pattinson. But after watching Lighthouse, The Devil All the Time, Good Time and High Life, this guy can bring the Grim to the Dark Knight. After watching Tenet, he can also bring the Detective. Let’s see if he has the damaged little boy in him as well.

Trying to curb my hype a bit for this. But have a feeling it's gonna be the best comic book movie ever. Never had any doubts with Pattinson because I've only ever seen him in great films.. never watched any twighlight movies. Bring on the Batman!

The direction looks AMAZING, the framing of some of the shots in the trailers are so cool. Plus the cinematography is just beautiful. The colour grading is great too, it really fits the grimy gothic aesthetic of Gotham. Plus a straight up detective noir thriller with Batman??? I've been waiting for this for a long time.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Paul dano's the riddler much in this video, he looks like he's going to be an incredible villain everything about him from the zodiac killer inspiration to the brutality he's showing is incredible so far plus Paul himself is an amazing actor, great video though I cannot wait for this film 🙏🏻

I’m so excited for this Batman! He’s my all time favorite super hero. I believe this will go the way of Michael Keaton; how he was underestimated with his casting, but did awesome in the movie!

As HiTop Films, and now you have said, it just feels like a movie. From the cinematography, the amazing cast, the great director, it doesn't like feel the standard comic book film or any Batman film we've gotten before, but yet it feels closer to the source material. It feels like Arkham Origins' world more than any game, movie or comic and that's great as Mattson Tomlin is a fan of the games and the animated series. Matt Reeves, Matt Tomslin and Robert Pattinson really love the Batman world. I consider my self as huge fan, but even I didn't know about EGO when Reeves mentioned it years ago. Then we have Robert mentioning Mask of the Phantasm as an inspiration. A Batman who doesn't kill in a world that represents today's era of Batman which will be explored in spin offs and sequels, I can't wait.

I’m a big mcu fan but I was a big DC fan first bcus of the Dark Knight so I would love to have that feeling again and with the Joker movie and a 3 hr movie of Batman this will be the authentic DC that’s I know it’s capable of. Similar to the Nolan series, Logan and the joker, this movie feels like a traditional movie; top cinematography, a well thought out plot etc and not a "theme park" movie like the MCU as Scorcese said or a mess like the Snyderverse.

I've loved everything about this film since it was announced, I've always loved Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson has been my favorite actor for 12 years, and I know this movie will be something truly special
