Think Like Batman - A Brain Training Program

You can train your brain just the same as you can train your muscles. In this video, I detail a brain training program inspired by Batman/Bruce Wayne, and I explore the types of brain training that actually work.

While not many brain training exercises are backed by science, options that do work include: the dual n-back test, exercises for increasing cognitive processing speed, meditation, and more. I also explore some other interesting concepts such as image streaming, productive meditation, thought experiments, nootropics, and others.

It's a bit of fun, but ultimately the take home lesson is this: exercise your brain!

Summary:

1) Meditation. Focus on one thing. Just do it for 3 minutes per day.
2) Brain training apps/programs. Two that work: Cognifit and BrainHQ. Helps with cognitive processing speed and working memory. Can be done with chess, visualizing rooms and mental arithmetic.
3) cognitive speed. Make decisions. Thought experiments and visualize different things. You can try rapping. Visualizing old room.
4) Practice what you're studying.
*alternative meditation*
Focus on specific part of your brain as you meditate.
5) walking is good for stimulating creativity and to have thought experiments and can be creative.
6) Image streaming
7) put brain on stress. React well under highly stressful situation. Work under these conditions.
8) video games and sports are a good simulation for stressful situations

Batman is my favourite super hero. He is both physically and mentally strong, which is very cool. The way he uses martial arts with his detective skills makes him so cool. Thanks to your videos, I am getting better both physically and mentally, getting closer to batman!

I think as VR develops we'll start seeing some bad ass people, because think about it a VR set up where you can practice fighting computer characters all day every day and then start fighting people from all over the world. If that programming gets super advanced you're gonna have all the benefits of being in over 10, 000 fights but none of the damage. So that's probably an amazing way to train your brain and your body.

Love meditation, I now incorporate Wim Hoff breathing with meditation. On inhalation I visualise taking in positive and healing properties, on exhalation I empty all negative thoughts and illness from the body

It would really be great if you'd create a book about becoming batman-like. Ifeel like if you'd maybe find some more techniques and strategies, you could combine it all, split into chapters, go wild, do experiments and 'case studies' on yourself - while making money! :)

I realize something as a kid, the more games I play the more I get better at playing games in general so at a certain point I was able to take all my gaming knowledge into the real life. Needless to say not all of it worked out but a great majority of it help me running for a bit.

First. Be an orphan than. Do not seek professional help to recover from the trauma. Than channel your rage into beating thugs into a bloody pulp.

I've definitely been waiting for a video like this. Can't be the Batman without the brains. Excellent video! I hope you're handling the stresses of parenthood well!

Ofc I love Superman, Flash, Green Lantern and other heroes...but my favorite are Batman and Green Arrow, because it motivates me how hard they have to train to be strong and fight people, they are not naturally strong they had to train to be strong as they are now. Also both Batman and Green Arrow are also really smart and sometimes defeat stronger enemy because they outsmart him and that's why I love them :D
