Film Theory: This is NOT A Batman Movie! (The Batman Trailer 2021)

The new trailer for The Batman starring Robert Pattinson looks very interesting... and surprisingly familiar? You see, with all of the hints hidden in the newest trailer - and I don't mean the riddles - I think I've figured out the ending twist of this movie! Loyal Theorists, you may be thinking, "Matpat, how can you possibly know off of the trailer?" Never doubt my ability to theorize out of the smallest details! You see, I think the big twist of this movie will be that The Batman is actually... well you'll need to watch to find out!

Just to tempt fate, let’s actually take it a step further in the Se7en comparison and do the match-ups:

Wrath: Batman, because “I am vengeance!”
Greed: Catwoman, because she loves shiny things and hasn’t fought Batman enough times yet to have an interest in his “utility belt.”
Envy: Riddler, because he sees himself as Batman’s friend and equal.
Pride: The Court of Owls, because they’ve been running Gotham for centuries.
Sloth: Falconers, the old gangster who’s let supervillains take over.
Gluttony: Penguin, because he keeps eating up territory for himself
Lust: Two-Face, because he represents Harvey Dent’s darkest desires set free (and because giving Catwoman Lust seems like too easy an out)

EDIT: To everyone who's commented "What about Chatacter X?" or "Character Y is not in this movie", I made this based off of the characters MatPat listed in the video. There are plenty of Batman characters who are better fits to the 7 Deadly Sins (Envy is obviously Clayface) but these 7 were the ones MatPat used so I wanted to build on his theory.

You’re lying if you say that Edward Nygma from Gotham wasn’t the best (current) incarnation of the Riddler. He’s neurotic, casually okay with murder, and opens just about every conversation with a quick riddle almost too fast to process. His acting is fantastic, and he perfectly portrayed an “almost-but-not-quite psychopath”.
