We're glad you liked it but as a Romanian/American, I will correct you here.

1. Sarmale is a cabbage wrapped minced meat, not meatballs.
2. That's not calamari that's beef belly.
3. The text voice pronounced what I assume you said chocolate bread, which isnt half wrong, Its Cozonac.
4. That particular dish is for people who died within romanian culture.

I cried watching this.
Its minced meat not meatballs.
Its beef belly not calamari.
Its filled with cacao walnuts and sometimes fruit like raisains or turkish delight.
Colivă is for when people get 200 pumped and their teamate doesn't pick up their reboot card.

I’m glad you loved the food! But as a Romanian/Spaniard/Italian, let me help correct you 🇷🇴

1. The meat you were calling meatballs does have the shape of it nearly, but it’s minced meat.

2. The “calamari” is actually pork belly. Though it may look like it and have the texture, it’s pork belly.

3. The chocolate bread is called cozonac. Very good dish and it’s good to add Turkish delight in it sometimes.

4. Koliva is a cake used for memorials when people die. That’s why it has the cross on it.

It has a cross because they make it and eat it when someone dies, at their funeral dinner.

Coliva is a religious food. It is made every Saturday during lent and brought to the Church for it to be made holy or when someone dies. As ingredients it basically is boiled wheat with sugar and some other toppings and a splash of wine. Don't ask why things are like this because I also don't know. The Orthodox Church has some weird traditions.

The sarmale wasn't supposed to be eaten with the leaf (it can be eaten with the leaf too but without the leaf they are better)
