Thanks - could not get mine to work and then realised after watching your video that the zoom wheel is not just small turn left and right for a motor type focus but full rotations to physically move some parts. It was jammed and so I had the confidence to twist with some force and it freed up. Many thanks.

Did you think to put a reticle under it, to see if the magnification is anything like what they claim?
At 500x, red blood cells should be pretty discernable. Can you see them with this microscope?

If you have problems with the software run it in win7 compatability mode.

I doubt the x500 magnification claimed & you should have checked that. Also you used a 21 or 23 inch monitor & I am doubtful about image quality when the microscope resolution is only 640x 480

I would really like to record a miniature set outside. For example, say I have an architecture of a model house, 100'th say of scale, a very small house. What I want to capture is motion and video frames of motion in this mini environment to see how shadows work on a mini scale. I wonder if you could upload some footage of recording the macro world with a micro camera. Would it even focus on an object 20 feet away? Why an object 20 feet away? To get an ants perspective of something 20 feet away. A regular camera would record this and it would appear 20 feet away. I am wondering if a micro cam such as this would make 20 feet appear to be hundreds of feet away. That's the essence of the capture I am wondering about.
