I misspoke about Pyro Ball and said it was 100% accurate when I meant to say "more" accurate (bc it is more accurate than Fire Blast). My b. I misspoke a few other times but we caught them in editing. This was a long vid XD

My thought process when choosing a starter is "Are it's evolutions cool? Yes. Thats good enough for me."

Everyone: Chikorita is such a terrible starter!

Me: *to my Chikorita* This is a dangerous game we've entered into, Basil.

I've traditionally been a fire starter fan, since they were often both fast and hard-hitting compared to the other starters, which made breezing through trainer battles all the less stressful, and they could often continue to pull their weight later in the game, either because their fire-type moves were effective against rarer types like steel and ice, or because they had some viable secondary types like fighting or psychic type. That, and I could often find some viable water and grass type Pokémon in the early game, such as Gyarados for Pokémon Red/Blue.

mudkip: better against the first and third gym
treecko: better against the first and second gym
torchic: good against the dad fight

Stop filling the comments section with “Oh, I beat *insert game here* with *insert starter that is not the best starter* “. He is simply stating that those particular starters make the playthroughs easier. If you want a challenge, then fine. If you pick it based on how cool the design is, fine! These are the starters that are easier to beat the game with, not the best starters competitively or your favorite starter

Fire tends to be great for a starter too because Water and Grass types tend to be more readily available early. It usually takes 2-3 badges before you can catch any Fire types, much less a useful one

Michael: Everything is bad against Whitney's Miltank

My Bayleef with Reflect and Synthesis: *a fOOLISH MISCALCULATION!*

Edit: I've recently done a Meganium-solo Run. And I gotta say, deleting Tackle is a HORRIBLE decision for Bugsy's gym. I deleted Tackle for -photo- synthesis and then I had to grind until level 31 to learn Body Slam. It was freaking PAINFUL. But otherwise, it was an easy run, except for Karen's Houndoom and my terrible luck.

Tip for witney:
Just get yourself a geodude
Miltank can't touch a geodude
Quick correction yes female geodude is better and stomp still doesn't deal alot of damage and I am lucky my geodude was a male but still didn't get attracted

I picked… none of those, except, ironically, the one with the smallest probability of being picked: Fenniken and Bulbasaur. Definitely the most important in the first couple games; my Charmander was really at a disadvantage.

Also you should pick chitchat in Diamond/Pearl ‘cause if you don’t, good luck using fire moves.

I remember being a freshman in high school when diamond & pearl were out, a lot of people nicknamed their Piplup as Happyfeet since that movie was popular around that time

You forgot to say this but Cinderace can do really well against Team Yell, Marni, and Piers because of them using Dark Type, Soley for Cinderace's Fighting Coverage
