Can you show how you set it up? This doesn't help much. I'm having problem passing the setup when it asks: We can't tell what cable or satellite box you have. It doesn't recognize my PC. I use RC-6 IR and I had to buy another one to try but it didn't work at all. How do you make it detect your PC? What IR are you using? Thanks.

I didn't know that the Xbox one Kinect could control live tv with voice commands if you connect the Xbox one with a PC with Windows Media Center running live tv on it. I knew could do it with a cable box but it didn't know it could do it with a Windows Media Center PC.

Have you tried using an extender like the ceton echo or the linksys extender? Please let me know, thanks.

My XB1 won't accept "Media Center PC" as my cable provider?  I can't seem to get it to recognize it.  Do you know what the model is to manually key in?

When I connect my Xbox One to my laptop I get a message "Display Driver Error: The video playback device does not support playback of protected content." I am able to watch WMC on my laptop so I am confused why this error comes up. I am nervous because I just ordered a tower that I will plug into my Xbox One to view on my TV and I'm afraid this message come up on this. Any thoughts?

Hi,

How did you get the Xbox One to pick up the voice commands to control the PC (Windows Media Center)?

I've currently go the PC connected directly into the Xbox One, but unable to get the remote recognised with the kinect to use voice commands...

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

What version of Windows do you use? I'm having a strange issue on my Windows 7 mc. The screen appears to freeze in the Xbox feed. It works fine when I don't use the Xbox pass through.

Can you tell me what model of IR receiver you're using with your HTPC.  I'm using a USB model TSES-IR01 and I'm wondering If I need to use a different IR receiver.  I can see when the XB1 sends a signal to the receiver (a red LED lights up on the IR receiver) but nothing happens.  I would really appreciate the response.  Thanks!

Do you notice any difference in picture quality?

what really is the point of connecting the hdmi of the htpc to the xbox one at all why not bypass it and put it on its own channel. This is such a MS way of thinking that this somehow replaces the favored extender.

What IR Receiver are you using on your Media PC?  The Kinnect with the xbox one doesn't seem to work with the one I'm using.

If XBOX ONE had the same Media Center Extender functionality would be still use XBOX 360s as all my cable boxes with a WMC7 PC over gigabit ethernet.

this video is entirely unhelpful. Maybe that's an exaggeration, it's nice to know that it works, but you don't really explain how it works or how you set it up or what kind of "set up" you are using at all. Maybe it's not a how to video, but it would be helpful if you showed us the set-up you have, whether this is cable or OTA (if cable why not directly connect that with the xbox?) And how does this work with the IR receiver?

Seems pointless to me.  Why would you set up a media center pc, and make it go through xbox one? You're inviting delay.
