I see a lot of people arguing about what is mythology and what is religion, can’t we all just agree they are all ancient religions?

First of all hinduism is not myth, it s still practised across the indian continent, and when you show hinduism you don’t show Taj Mahal, you show the temples, taj mahal was built by muslim emperor

So sad to see that Enkidu sacrificed his life in order to save the life of his best friend and king Gilgamesh. But this is what true loyalty means.

I wouldn’t call Hinduism a mythology. It’s simply the oldest living religion, which can make it seem a little mythological

I'm seeing lots of folks getting offended by the use of the word "myth." Obviously, people are equating "myth" with "fiction." It's important to understand that from a theological scholarly point of view, a myth/mythology refers to the origin stories, where the gods came from and the interaction of humanity with the divine. That is all. The word myth is not meant to cast any aspersions on any religion or belief system, and thus makes no claims regarding the veracity or falsity of any story or personage described. Belief or doubt is left up to the individual. Again, this is the SCHOLARLY point of view. Obviously lay people will use the word "myth" to refer to sonething untrue, which is a mistake in reference to this video.

As a Christian myself, i would've enjoyed hearing about the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic mythologies.

Indian epics The Ramayana and The Mahabharata are not myths they are real histories. Whereas Puranas and other stories such as local legends or folktales could be myths. The Puranas actually explain the celestial events in a very meraphorical way

I’m not religious but categorizing Hinduism as mythology is extremely disrespectful.
