This is not even half enough yet 😅. Buddhism, Chinese Myth, Hinduism are all connected. If you actually explore the deepest part of the Buddhism, along the path you will see all three are connected.

I love your videos. I felt like your Norse and Greek mythology in 60 seconds were spot on. But this one actually made me feel like I know even less about Chinese mythology than I did before I watched it 😬

I have never been annoyed so quickly in 60 seconds damn

1. Dragons in Chinese mythology dont have wings and are also rulers of the sea and weather, not the sky. They also dont hoard treasures.

2. Immortals are more of a final form for cultivators and mortals. The ones shown in the video are known as the Eight Immortals.

3. Sun Wukong, contrary to popular belief, is not part of chinese mythology. He comes from a piece of literature called Journey to the West incorporating elements of chinese mythology, taoism and buddhism into the story. It can be regarded as entirely fictional though it has had a massive impact on the world. Many people also think Wukong is based on the Hindu god Hanuman who is also a monkey.

4. Yin Yang is not really chinese mythology, its more of a school of thought and a concept which eventually became a part of taoism. Though it is a part of several myths like Pangu splitting Heaven and Earth, its not really chinese mythology per se.

5. Creature. Really? Creatures? While there are many fascinating mythological beasts in books like the Classic of Mountains and Seas, and many creatures do show up in chinese mythology, Zhulong is not a really a creature, its a dragon god, more specifically the Torch Dragon which could change the day night cycle and the seasons at will. Also a Qilin is a mythological creature but its more of a species of auspicious beasts than just one creature.

All in all, this video is full of misinformation and sun wukong is not part of chinese mythology no matter how cool it would be. He'll always be a part of it in our hearts i guess

Wukong did not set out on the journey for immortality.. he is already immortal after going into hell and removing his name from the book of life and death.. he set out on the journey to seek enlightenment from buddha... Also wheres buddha? Buddha is different from xian...

Strictly speaking, Sun Wukong does not come from Chinese mythology. He is just a character in the novel Journey to the West.
