To make it clear, the video does not solely aim at showing the fastest weapons in a speedrun scenario or on leaderboards. But instead those weapons which were very strong and at the same time were one of the most used weapons at that time. That can be for different reasons like ease of use, comfort, easy to craft, low tier charm options, consistent damage vs a large roster, etc. For example weapons that a majority of the community used to get past certain tougher monsters or for farming e.g. Clust vs Alatreon in Tri. Even if Clust wasnt used as much outside of the Alatreon hunt it was still so impactful at the time due to Alatreon being a major part of endgame grinding that I decided to pick it for Tri. I also wanted to showcase weapons that were often used by casual players, weapons that had a big impact on the overall "comfy and strong" meta, and weapons that are just interesting to talk about in general. "Best" is a subjective term anyway.

Also, the video title is "every generation" not "every single game". There are way too many games to cover in just one video anyway. So I decided to select 1-2 games per generation in order to focus on those games that I felt like were most interesting for this video. So P3rd and Dos were not part of the video. They were also never officially released in the West. Weapons featured at the end of the video during "Honorable mentions" does not necessarily mean these weapons were overall worse. It means they were also top tier but I simply did not make an in-depth section for this particular weapon. All in all, this video was pretty challenging to make, so I hope you all enjoyed watching it!

The best weapon is the friends we made along the way

Capcom: "Damn, the Heavy Bowgun and Dual Blades were a little OP in these last few entries, huh? Nerf the Insect Glaive."

So incase this video isn't clear, *CAPCOM tends to make a new feature, overpowered.*

I think it's unfair in 4U to not talk about the Insect Glaive. Because yes, the gravios HBG is the strongest, but only in multiplayer with a very specific team composition. Outside of this, Insect Glaive is better.

Man i really miss the old school skill system. I know it’s super dated now but that feeling of having the skills you want active while also counter slotting decorations so you wouldn’t have the negative skills active was one of my favorite parts of old school monster hunter games.

lance in gen 1 was busted
headlocking was so ridiculous it trivialized fights where you could pull it off

we literally head locked lao shan in mh1 so bad we timed out before he hit final area and we had to wait an extra 5+ min for him to get there for the repel mission end to cue 🤣

Some additional additions/corrections: (an expansion of the comment from @CanadianAdim)
MHG:
1:39 Keep in mind that is G Wii, which had had different balancing than the original Monster Hunter G

MH2:
As mentioned, Eternal Schisms is in contention alongside Hammer (across the board) for Dos's strongest weapon, but I believe it can be outpaced by White Fatalis's Bow (specifically because of Charge Level 2 and 3) on most Dragon weak matchups.

Dos also had an the 1.5 mod for White sharpness and Adrenaline. A few weapons could make use of both, but it is stronger than it is F2.

MHF2/MHP2:
4:40 Speed Fire is not Rapid Up, it is the predecessor/equivalent to Auto Reload, and causes bows to charge faster like Focus.

MH3:
Clust should be out damaged in most matchups and in solo/duo isn't really viable to fully bank on as you will run out. It's also not an exception to the games that came before. Also, purple sharpness is a 1.5 mod in Tri, because it is a sequel to Dos / Freedom Unite, who's max sharpness has the same mod.

MHWI:
The Snowman Glitch should have at least been mentioned.

Since, MHP3rd is missing
MHP3rd had Bamboo gunlance with biggest artillery damange which where you can use Auto guard glitch with to mow down monsters with zero effort similar to the MH3G’s kelbi bow.

Also Devil jho’s LBG rapidfire dragon shot was ridiculously strong, it could down High Rank Uragaan just under 2mins solo with no speedrun training.

Getting interrupted by Vespoids is the most Monster Hunter Unite thing to happen

God.. The Kelbi Bow was the most braindead weapon ever created, it was crazy. Now I wonder which weapon type is the best per generation since the weapons showcased here need either a specific build or a few steps.

MH1JP and NA strongest weapon was the Black Dragon Spear
MHF1 all Sword and Shields are busted with a 1.5 sharpness modifier being given to them that stacks with their weapon sharpness (White sharpness is a 1.3 mod)
MH2 added the 4 new weapon types of Longsword, Gunlance, Hunting Horn, and Bow.
MH2's strongest weapon is a few things Eternal Schisms are incredibly powerful against Elder Dragons, and Hammer overall is very very strong, Clust gunning is also very strong allowing sub 5 minute White Fatails runs.
MHP2G/FU did not introduce Auto-Reload, that skill was introduced in MHG

but, but, reddit told me that Longsword is the most OP in every game?

I remember one of the most broken class in 4U is the charge blade. Set up properly, you get easy KOs, be almost untouchable with most monsters using guard points, and BIG BIG damage. I remember my hammer using friend being very salty that I got all the KOs.

I miss Valor man... LS and HBG as broken as they were, so damn fun with that style.

No one will disagree being a Sekiro or Master Chief is massive fun in Generation.

Bow was just as strong as DB's in Sunbreak if not stronger. The Berserk/Strife set on bow gave the weapon infinite stamina, insane raw and element, and made the normally squishy bow player invincible. Bow also had the power shot animation cancel that allowed the weapon to shoot off two volleys after every dash. And bow's damage wasn't locked behind wirebugs like DB's which relied on spamming Spiral Thrust.

This video is weird because not only do you not have any specific criteria what constitutes as "best" or "strong", but the picks are also not really good.
In MH tri, the clust bowgun is literally only used for 1 single monster. And you needed 4 players to actually pull off this strat. That is 1 single multiplayer matchup it's best at. It loses to close range pierce in literally every single other matchup in the game. Not to mention the most agreed upon best weapon for general purpose hunting is the Alatreon lance. Why use the Crimfat lance in G when you could also clust Fatalis in that game like Alatreon in tri? There's no real logic behind this choice imo.
The kelbow in 3U is also just wrong. Like straight up. It doesn't even win in its own category because the Brachy bow is better for slime spread bows. That's also not even factoring in the actual best weapons like the HBGs with the underwater ammo cycle glitch or just the raw power of 4 pierce siege HBGs that far outdamage kelbow, or the other op guns like God's Archipelago and Miralis LBG, which just shit on monsters solo and online.
The info on GU bowguns is also completely incorrect. So much misinfo, holy shit.
First of all, Challenger gives 15% affi in this game, secondly, nobody uses this skill on HBG. It's more expensive and less strong than using Crit Eye 3, which most of the meta sets use. Secondly, Repeat Offender increases stacks per ticks, not per shot. It's maxed out after two shots, not six. Additionally, you can't get this skill together with Weakness Exploit unless you have a 2 skill charm, which is extremely rare. If you're save editing op charms, it is just worse Crit Eye 3, so this skill only sees use in matchups where Weakness Exploit isn't good to replace it. It has about a 30% usage in TA, while WE has 70%-ish. It almost never replaces CE3 outside of extremely specific, non-optimal charms (e.g. I have a pierce 4 tenderizer 4 OOO which lets me add it via Neset, but not CE3).
The pierce crit distance is also wrong. Pierce 1 has a much smaller crit distance compared to pierce 2, which means that you actually have much less leeway with your positioning. This is the reason even TA runs and hame runs still use shot booster, because the pierce 1 crit dist is really shit. You only have about a 1 roll window to keep it without SB, which is really bad. Pierce 2&3 have a much better crit distance and can forego this skill in pretty much all relevant matchups. The reason pierce 1 is better is because it has better motion values and average recoil requirement. This means higher raw bowguns use it and the damage concentration on the weakspot is higher. The crit distance is not a reason this ammo is good, in fact it is its only big problem.
And finally, the Daora HBG is not considered the best HBG as far as the meta goes. It is second place behind the Orcus Quarcus. The slot is actually quite important for some god charm sets (e.g. the hotblooded set or the full GX Old with AuS are only possible with 2 slots) and the para siege is important on some matchups and for a couple of multiplayer strats and limp stops. The 10 raw is also not as big of a deal because Orcus has slicing 2 and it takes until the second full combine for Daora's to overtake it, damage-wise. The much bigger deciding factor for choosing Daora is the deviation, because Orcus gets small L/R deviation from temper, while Daora gets large L from it. The Orcus can also buff teammates with Demon armor in multiplayer, which is a huge buff (1.1x sharpness, 1.7 crit dist for bowguns). The TA use rate of Orcus to Daora is about 2:1 right now and there are few reasons to take Daora unless you never use para or demon shots and can't make a better set from the extra slot. It's definitely worth using a lot of the time, but as of right now, it's behind Orcus as far as meta goes, both solo and online.
I would've liked this video a lot more if it included all the games and you had done a proper layout of the criteria and actually researched the games as well as checked back with the current best players to ask for their opinions. They would disagree with most of your picks here.

Glad to see that almost every monster hunter content creator favorite MH is 3 tri just like me, but I introduced MH to my friends with World and so I can't explain to them why we need aquatic combat back 😭 It's just the vibe, the freedom, the music... Hope to see a MH7 in Moga islands or some new archipelago... But I hope someday we will get a reboot or a PC launch of legacy games...
