You know he is shouting everything he wants to say in his head, but his tongue and brain are in disconnect. How incredibly frustrating that must be. His wife is a wonderful translator and extremely patient. I hope that they are still in good health!!

I am a survivor in 2013. I have aphasia . It has been very hard every day BUT you have to practice every day. Sometimes you think that your not getting better. The fact that you are reading this message YOU ARE BETTER. We know that this is a lifetime change and the Aphasia family that will help each other. You do not have to be alone. There are MANY programs not all of them work for you, find one that works for you.

35 years old, i couldn't speak well verbally or write..I had in Feb 2023 and I hope I can recover soon. Recovery to all of us in Jesus name.

I had aphasia from the beginning because when I was born the speech center of my brain was damaged when I was coming out of my mother. It was very hard at the beginning but my parents were proactive and took me to a speech therapist when I was a child and that really helped me. When you're born, you don't have any language so It was hard at the beginning. I went to a speech therapist for a few years. I had expressive aphasia and over the years I have overcome it with the help of God.

thank you for sharing this experience, my father-in-law has this condition, can you recommend a support organisation in australia that understands Aphasia and could assist in an assessment for him as the family is on different wavelengths coping and understanding. I feel if we could get someone to assess him that understands Aphasia we can then offer him support solutions. I have already had a speech pathologist see him and unfortunately it wasn't a match, no one's fault it was a mismatch and I know he felt misperceived. Thank you and good day

Ater an open heart surgery i had cv5 theyput me in s coma woke up all my interior organ working my leg was working too oly my left hand imoh physical therapy myaccent chnged my voice, but ican still bring words i need i planning to see a speach therapist., my hand is getting better life can be lost in a second i thsnk god that he brought me bsck from surgery and coma. I guess my doctors in lebanon are good yet i know for sure i will never be how i used to be before thestroke.i am 53 born with a bad valve, unlucky
