What Yael Shvetz thought was a terrible migraine, was actually a rare, hemorrhagic stroke. Yael was placed in a medically induced coma for 10 days. When she woke up, she needed intensive rehab to learn how to walk, talk, and take care of herself again. Today, she is sharing her story in hopes to inspire others to prioritize their well-being and learn the signs and symptoms of stroke. Yael is a member of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women 2023 Real women Class of Survivors.

On September 7, 2021 I suffered an ICH in my office. I will never forget that day. It was like death. Till this day, I often cry thinking about it. I have made a full recovery. I feel like a walking miracle. That horrible experience changed the way I look at EVERYTHING.

On 11th n 12th October 2023i got 2 strokes one night apart n went into a coma, my brother got me out of it, bless him n then when I got to hospital, the 14 th october 2023 doctors played so fast the found 2 blood clots on my brain n had to do emergency craniotomy surgery n by the grace of god I survived, my recover was slow bt healing was worth it, , I still suffer a lot of side effects bt I'm alive....THANK GOD

My husband had a Hemaralgic Stroke on March 31..Easter Sunday.
He is currently in rehab but his left side is affected.
It's been slow going..he cannot stand without assist or hold his balance. Hopefully, he will be able to get to use a walker
We have a small townhouse..not at all suitable for a wheelchair.
I have a bad back and definitely cannot lift him.
I'm SO scared and depressed...
