I would say any young person in today's society should read Nihilism by Fr. Seraphim Rose. It is a must!

Not know about spiritual books, but I have fallen in love with Discourses and Sayings of Abba Dorotheos of Gaza (my drive is to read them once in a year). Also "On Prayer" by St Sophrony Sakharov was interesting for me (which does not mean, of course, it would be like that for everyone)... And I have heard that "Wounded by Love" by St Porphyrios of Kafsokalyvia is one of the classics.

I’d recommend The Dialogues by St Gregory the Great (very simple read, but deep!) as well as any of the lives of the saints such as in The Prologue of Ochrid by St Nikolai Velimirovich & the Synaxarion.
