"But the most we can hope for is to get you buried in secrecy so your grave don't get violated!" is an underrated line

I love how the futuristic space station is built out of brick inside

Rodger Bumpass has some incredible range as a voice actor, a shame he only really plays squidward now, talent like that should be all over the industry

Ah, Captain Sternn, the child of Gaston and Zapp Brannigan.

"He's never done anything illegal
UNLESS YOU COUNT ALL THE TIMES HE'S SOLD DOPE DISGUISED AS A NUN!"

Probably the funniest part of the entire movie. Not least because despite all of Sternn's horrid list of deeds, it's probably the most SFW part of the entire movie!

One day, I'll watch the entirety of this film sober
But today isn't that day

"Lincoln Stern, you stand here accused of
12 counts of murder in the first degree
14 counts of armed theft of Federation property
22 counts of piracy in high space
18 counts of fraud
37 counts of rape

and one moving violation!"

It's really the moving violation that made it all worthwhile, don't you think?

Any movie that starts out with a Corvette entering the earth's atmosphere can't be bad!

Having read the original comic, this version of Sternn is actually a lot darker.
Sternn in the comic, while having an ego, didn't just casually kill people.

I decided to look up some of the comics in which he appeared. In these Sternn actually demonstrates noble qualities such as wanting to end a global war on a planet of which he ended up as president off as he wanted to leave the planet with a clean conscience.

He is a thief, a liar, a manipulator, and other things, but he is not entirely heartless.

I still can't belive Captain Sternn was voiced by Eugene Levy.

Also cool that Hanover Fiste was voiced by Roger Bumpass, the guy who does Squidward in Spongebob and Professor Membrane in Invader Zim

I’ve read that the one-eyed robot that helps Sternn escape is from the original comics and is called Beezer. He accompanies Sternn on his travels and is his most loyal companion. This story is also based on an actual comic story, the difference thou being Stern doesn’t kill Hanover.

Imagine being so horrible your own defense attorney pleads for you to say you’re guilty

Hanover Fist is voiced by Rodger Bumpass, who voices Squidward on SpongeBob. Matter of fact, Squidward and Hanover have the same shirt.

Dean Wormer's voice is the ultimate voice of authority.

"And one moving violiation!" always gets me! And give the tip staff kudos for courage, even if stupid courage. I like this video because it isn't cut like the others on YouTube.

I love simple stories presented in a way that just gushes over with lore. I remember being lucky enough to catch the original Heavy Metal as a kid when our cable service was allowing some free HBO or something as a promotional. Early exposure to stuff like this, Vampire Hunter D, and Akira really helped me developmentally. To this day, I still can't get over the absolute tragedy of that story in Heavy Metal involving the cabbie and the hooker.

This segment of the movie kinda stands out, simply because of the lack of swearing, blood or tits. Seriously, this is probably the most SFW part of a very NSFW movie

This is one of my favorite movies from the 80s. Old-school animation at its best.
