I think even before being an artist-philosopher, he is a philologist.

As to my knowledge, there still hasn't been a decent succesful translator of Nietzche's work to english. I've read 3 or 4 translators, and they all completely demolish his very unique way of writing, which in my opinion is half the charm of reading Nietzche to begin with. Most translations are just horrendous.

My favorite example is from Götzen-Dämmerung in which he begins an aphorism with the two simple words: "Denken lernen:" which has been translated to "As to learning how to think—". For the love of everything good, stop translating Nietzche to sterile, academic english.
