I think alzhimers happens a lot with people who retire because they gave up their routine. Same thing with exercise. It helps because its creating a routine for your brain to set up channels around. I think depressed ppl are more susceptible to it to. Its like your brain trys to heal by forgetting bad things that happen. Those things can stick but they can also black things out.

I'm sure they would work out if their body didn't feel like it got hit by a train most mornings my great uncle whos 77 now was lifting till about 4 or 5 yrs ago

I think if they keep it up from the get-go it won't be hard to work out at 70. Some people never worked out a day in their life and now they're seventy and they need to work out but can't. They will certainly get an injury or their body will be hurting.
