My sentiments exactly. Selling dollar store dishes for 3 x’s the original price. I quit.

Goodwill is greedy! They have lost sight of what the original reason was for opening to begin with. CEO is greedy!

Ross is cheaper than goodwill. You get new stuff for cheaper! 😊

I am constantly finding things in the thrift store that still have a sticker from the dollar store and they have the gall to charge more 😂

My entire wardrobe (minus undergarments and athletic wear) was second hand but it’s not feasible anymore. Rising costs of used clothes is ridiculous, and most of the stuff at my local thrift stores is cheap crap from SHEIN now. It bums me out but shopping at TJ Maxx is essentially what thrifting used to be.

I manage a french thrift charity store and let me tell you how hard it is to put prices on things that arrive at the shop! 😱 First we get thousands of objects PER DAY, we don't really have time to look for all the prices, otherwise we get completely submerged. Each volunteer who puts prices would have to check for each item, knowing most are not even on the internet, so they would have to be in those cheap stores everyday to know how much the items in all the shops sell for ? That's impossible 😅 And don't forget, we might get them for free, but there is a LOT of time spent, charges, rent, and those items have simply an intrinsic value, and that must be respected too 😊. Plus, you will just as often find a really unexpensive price on a fantastic super expensive vintage good, simply because the person putting the price had no idea 😅

I'm not sure how it works in the USA but here in France my association works with a lot of different charities and we give out to help those in need as well 😊 ❤

I tried to donate a large stockpot which had a small chip on the lid and they would not take it.
One woman I know was trying to donate a lift chair with a built in massager and they would not take it because of a small white stain! She gave it to me i quickly cleaned off the stain and have had it for almost two years now and works great! The small mom and pop thrift shops I find better deals at!

Yes, I completely agree 💯 All of the thrift stores have raised their prices so much that people who are homeless and down on their luck can't even afford to shop here!!! And the proceeds are to help these people!! What The HECK is going On!!! IT'S Absolutely Disgraceful...😢😢😢😡😡😡

This is why I avoid the major box store thrifts. Church basements and local charity shops are where it's at.c

"More like FU for four bucks." Nailed It !!!! Hahahaha Girl, I've felt like this as well, WAY too many times. Canada is TERRIBLE for this kind of BS. I once found a used blouse exactly like one I have but with a different print that was gorgeous and in perfect shape but it was DOUBLE the price I paid for mine brand new. Eventually that store shut down. I wasn't the only one swearing while wandering through there. FU indeed What makes me so angry about this is that families with children, who quickly grow out of their clothes, are struggling and in need of affordable replacements but can't afford this ridiculousness. I know because I was 'there' as a single mom many years ago, it was distressing!!!

It’s so true ! I use to love thrifting but the prices are no longer thrift prices! Gauge your wallet prices! It’s ridiculous !

I donated a bunch of things to GoodWill, and first of all, they gave me the wrong info over the phone so I had to carry heavy bags in the 90 degree heat uphill (because they wouldn’t allow me to park in their parking lot). They saw me carrying heavy bags, just watched, and once I came in, they said the drop off time was closed early that day, even though online and over the phone they said they were open, maybe 15
Minutes ago. Then, when I came back, the girl was telling one of the guys working there that they can take whatever they want and resell it online for much more. So the nicer things aren’t even being sold in the store, just stolen and resold elsewhere. I will never donate there again, and would have taken back everything I donated if I had been able. Disgraceful.

I've always wondered how they come up with their prices 🤔

I know it’s ridiculous. I try hard to not even shop thrift but instead directly from people at yard sales and FB market place.

Goodwill is terrible but I was at Salvation Army this morning and couldn’t BELIEVE how much they have raised their prices! Almost WORSE than Goodwill.
