I swear to God my thrift stores don't have s***, everything I look up is selling for almost the exact same price as eBay. I think my city has a lot of hoarder, picker, preper type people but the thrift stores are hardly worth it.

Listed prices by random ebay sellers don’t mean the item will actually sell for that much unfortunately. Woul love to see a follow up video where you actually sell some of it and show us how much the items were ultimately sold for. Otherwise these videos mean nothing really

I say this everytime, I do this as a side hustle and you actually have to find a buyer for these items. Just because they sell doesn't mean they sell often enough to hold them for months upon months

All good ideas, but that's if everything you bought works. And if you can even find a buyer for the item... if it works

Can we just talk about that steering wheel setup at the beginning?? 😂

Wish these videos where more honest about how difficult this really is. I did it for 2 years. They make it seem like you just walk in, look around for 5 minutes and walk out with $100 profit. It's not true.
What they don't show you is that you're looking at about a 1-2 month waiting period on the item to sell if your lucky. Could take longer. Could be 6 months. so you need a good amount of free cash because you gotta feed yourself and be able to constantly buy new inventory. Then you gotta hope that your item doesn't get undercut by some mass market seller. then you gotta pay for packaging and proper inventory storage. Then you gotta hope that your item is satisfactory to the buyer. On ebay a few bad reviews will ruin your store. Then you gotta hope the item doesn't get returned. Then you gotta pay ebay 11-14% on the sale. You gotta pay for gas for every trip to the thrift store. And if you dont find anything to resell, which happens sometimes, you just lost money and time! The list goes on and on.
As someone who actually did this for 2 years. It's not worth it. There are better hustles or jobs out there.

I found that same Panasonic tape player machine a few weeks ago and got real excited after I looked up the model number. After a bit of research I realized that the system is supposed to have that turntable on the top and the one I found didn't. Didn't see any data for the unit without the turntable and the sticker price was high so I passed.

I didn't really know what a "thrift" store is but e-commerce stores do sell things with more price. Even in my shop, I have many things that are cheaper when you search up its price on e-commerce store.

Note that he said that he found the profit. Probably meaning that he has yet to sell it. On eBay the stuff may be going for a set amount but that doesn’t mean that it’s being sold much at that amount. This flipping stuff will take slot of patience since you can easily find cheaper stuff in other places like you guessed it, thrift stores. To start you can try selling all your extra clothes and junk at home to free up space to gain experience on how to ship the stuff and get a glimpse of how it is to price stuff and sell it. Then go thrift store flipping if you feel like it.

I frequently dumpster dive apartment complex areas and I get lucky finding items placed by the dumpsters. Sold a working a Xbox for $85, microwaves for parts, tvs, treadmills for the motor parts. Can't beat free stuff in the trash and making some profit off it.

Honestly, i have that panasonic sound system, looks 100% like mine, except i have a turntable on top and did some modifications for more modern speakers. That sound system rocks everything, i will never need something else

A lot of the stuff at my thrift store sucks. You sometimes see video games and consoles (which I scoop up) and some old blu ray players, or dvd/cassette players.

I did pick up a skateboard today, which is pretty cool, only 5 bucks too

I’m a year late, but I can say the strat for thrifitng is live in the south. Also if there’s a tech item at a (local) thrift store it works 99% of the time because it’s tested out beforehand.

I’d kill for that Panasonic vinyl system
