I heard about a woman that sold her bread machine for billions after slapping a Theranos sticker on it

Bro just let the people who actually need goodwill buy the stuff inside

Edit: I started a war

Unless he actually sells the items and shows the profit, its just bs tbh. Wouldn't just take his word for it.

Plus, those stores are there to help people who are experiencing harder times. Leave the good stuff for them.

As someone who works at goodwill we throw away countless amounts of products every day from the shelf’s on the floor. There will always be countless items for people in poverty and those who resell. It’s not scarce, it’s not a competition.

Don’t do this though, goodwill is meant as a sore arm hat offers cheaper alternatives to the less fortunate, so going to goodwill to make a profit like this is messed up

Levi 560 will sit in the death pile for a year before they sell.

I find video game consoles that are broken (or a lot of times not), fix them, clean them, and sell them on craigslist. I do the games as well but the biggest profit is from all the guitar controllers.

Man, this type of video hurts my soul … so sad humans always need to exploit each …

Goodwill funds community programs. They get money from consumers by reselling donations. If you’re mad poor people don’t have designer clothes, be mad at Goodwill since all the stuff they sell is free to them. The goal is to fund programs, not giving poor people Peter Millar shirts. Without consumers they have $0.00.

You can’t anymore. Every goodwill near me in a 30 mile radius caught on a few years ago and has everything either at full price or 2/3rds of the price. They used to price stuff 50% off- 1/3rd of the actual price, but since everyone flips, they stopped.

Just an FYI - there are "needy" people who do this exact same thing. They flip items too for profit. If nobody should do it, then those people would be denied money too. I've seen items in Goodwill that honestly weren't worth the price they were selling for, the condition wasn't worth it. Then theres gems that could help someone pay their bills if they resold them. If someone spends $20 in there and makes some money, why be mad at them about it? There's still a whole store full of things for people, and theyre still able to get the things they need. Don't knock something until you've had to do it just to survive. It isn't black and white.

I'm not sure if this guy has this mindset or if he's just performing a "challenge" but regardless, find something more productive to do. These little shortcuts and flipping products for a quick buck is not worth it and takes away from someone who would benefit from a lower price on the product

You do on eBay what I have an entire store for. And to those who say he is a douche for this, let me tell you he isn’t.

I run a small mom-and-pop thrift store who deals with goodwill and arc from time to time, let me tell you, the people threes stores serve are not the people barely making food money. Second hand stores are here to sell gently used items at a discounted rate (most of the time), they do sometimes sell items to people who can’t afford new but most of the time how they actually help is by donating part or most of their profits to community organizations that then give out new items and vouchers to people who need them. Him flipping a bread maker or a pair of jeans isn’t gonna hurt the homeless, it actually helps as his money gets used to actually get things people need, and it’s a lot easier to sell used stuff than to beg for money donations.

When ever I feel like a pos, videos like this remind me that I could be worse

I personally dislike people who do this as a side hustle. You're like a used goods scalper.

I found a HAAG chair at goodwill once. Paid $5 for it and flipped it, to a pawn shop, for $150!
