If you’re on iOS, best to go with Apple Watch. If you’re on Android, get a Garmin. The galaxy watch has a lot of features but it’s proven to not have the best accuracy.

Thank you so much for watching this one!!! I will be posting more wearable and smartwatch videos, so if you like that stay tuned!!

Also it’s worth noting that the Garmin has a significantly better battery life than the other watches (since it has less smartphone like features) so if you want battery that lasts it’s definitely really worth heavily considering !!

The battery life of the Garmin line of watches is the real reason I have Garmin's. I started with the Instinct due to it's price, then moved up to a Venu 2 but cracked the screen doing everyday stuff so I moved to the Fenix 6X Pro. The Instinct gets more than a week on a charge doing everyday stuff. The Venu was similar but has better Smart Watch features and a color screen. The Fenix gets 21+ days and has solar charging so can go indefinitely if you're outdoors enough. The Garmin interface could use some optimization but functions with any phone system and has a great fitness app. I have had multiple Android based watches and the Garmin is my favorite. I have never owned an Apple watch so haven't experienced their watches as they are racist towards Android Phones 😂.

Garmin is the way to go if your priority is a fitness health oriented smartwatch - I tried all of thoese apart from the pixel watch - Garmin has 10+ days battery life, more fitness and health features, and more than all - the garmin coach, etc in the app does not require you to get a subscription. It is not the best when it comes to smart features - so you have to decide what you like based on your needs. So I settled for the Garmin Vivoactive.

I love the ability to note how you’re feeling so the device can continue to learn.

Quite a thorough review and yes, I'd love to see a sleep study comparing the accuracy of the watches. For example, my Pixel 8 Pro is FDA certified for taking temperatures of people now, and they should all be FDA cleared or have a disclaimer. I wish my Pixel Watch 1 had a fitness plan like the Garmin. Maybe it does and I need to find it in the Fitbit app? LOL I procrastinate and skip but honestly I've had a fever off and on so I haven't done any HIIT or even chair yoga or anything. I'm out of shape and I used to be athletic and even in my 20s bike 20 miles a day. I need to explore the Fitbit app instead of scrolling like an addict haha

According to me -

If you want a second phone in your wrist with some fitness features, you're okay with charging it daily get apple / samsung watch based on you have iPhone / Android

If you want a fitness/health focused watch with some smartphone integration, don't want to charge another device daily & just charge only once per 2 weeks get Garmin.

Personally went with Garmin, I'm already distracted enough by my phone during the day / work don't want that all day long.

Good quick review. The Garmins are more accurate for health. Apple is pretty good, the Samsung health stuff is kind of a dumpster fire. Other things: larger/heavier watches are less accurate because of the weight bouncing around etc. Sleep tracking on all of them is pathetic. Generally stress is looked at by heart rate variability at least for Garmin. It works pretty well. The Apple thing is silly. Being happy or feeling good does not mean you are not stressed. I'm very happy Christmas morning but also very stressed. My Garmin catches this. And if I do breathing exercises for a few minutes, that heart rate variability levels out :-)

However, the Garmins are not great smart watches at all.

It all depends on your needs
and where you're at :-)
Ultimately, listening to your body whether you're wearing a watch or not, exercising, and dieting right makes the real difference.

I've used Garmin for years — and of course learned so much new information in your explainer video. So informative always!

Great work, Jacklyn! You are a natural. Would love to see how accurate the watches are vs. a sleep study and ECG.

Thank you for a good "tech in the daily life" review!
This is your sweet spot as you have a good sensibility of how tech fits into the life of regular users ...

If you are more serious about fitness, go with Garmin. If you care more about having a watch version of your phone, go with the others. That's my takeaway.

I like how you test it like how 99% of users will use this. Some get so into it comparing against high tech equipment etc. most just want the tech for convenience and general health tracking. If anything, having a smart watch has helped me get more active, being the subtle nudges it gives me throughout the day. Plus. It's much more than a health tracker. So value will always be there. Great video comparison!
