Comparison of PC emulators - 86Box vs PCem

PCem v17 won, it's smoother and faster

86box reminds me of how my old PC would actually run the game, but PCem is a smoother experience. Both are really neat imo.

When I tried playing Nicktoons Basketball on 86Box I noticed a lot of flickering that are absent on real hardware.
It was still playable but still flashy.

PMMX 200 is too much for the I7 6600K, try lowering the emulated specs to get good sound and graphics in sync

PCem can only be used as standalone, it can't be pairing with rocketlancher due to ghost process on exit and lack of hooking (unable to detect exit and unable to control the emulator).

I did exactly the same test, but the game runs at about 75fps, but the sound keeps chopping and crashing, I tried a million configurations and I couldn't solve the problem. My CPU is a Ryzen 9 5950x at 5.0GHz. I've already tested with Pentium 1, Pentium 2, Celeron 500Mhz, All possible configurations, with 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 of memory. I changed sound card, dug up wood burning plane weather drivers and couldn't get it to work properly... 😂

86box is slower but also more accurate so...

Are you emulating Windows 95 or 98? I am trying to run it with 86box using 95 RTM (only version available in my language) and the performance is shit.
Host's specs are i7 7700, 16GB RAM and RTX 3070. Emulated specs are Pentium MMX233, 64MB RAM, S3 Virge DX and Voodoo2 SLI.
I can't run the game on any res above 640*480 (using any higher resolutions just revert it back to some weird 540*3xx resolution), also flickering sounds even with AmnHLT installed.

PCem is no longer useful unless you have a bad computer. PCem has no multithreading. The more CPU's you have (AKA the better CPU) the worse your performance in PCem will be. 86box is the future.
