Hey All,

In this video I explain how to set up RetroArch with your BIOS file in order to play a game. This works for Mac, Android and Windows PC...and probably Linux as well. :)

Ayyy thanks so much man. I was trying to get Symphony of the Night running and it was a nightmare, took me hours, this solved my issues in a few seconds. Thanks again.

I can't believe it was that easy to fix! Many thanks for the tutorial, I was trying to play Spyro on the Duckstation core and had no luck with it until I got the BIOS file it needed.

wow, it worked. I don't know why, but I had a very hard time getting directions that made sense until now. thank you. THE BIOS FILE GOES INTO THE SYSTEM FOLDER....that's it. Performed this with Lakka.

OMG, was frustrated with this being new to both Retroarch AND Android os!!! Just got a Samsung S8 Plus w/ Snapdragon 8 chip and turning it into an emulation beast! So far, PS2, Gamecube & Wii, PS1, and Dreamcast have worked like a charm. (Except using Aethersx2 with “Shadow Hearts”, for some reason had to change graphics from Open GL to Software to get it to run properly). Now I’m playing “Snatcher” on Retroarch Plus on Sega CD!!! Thank you for all the tutorials!!!

Thank you very much! This is the best tutorial on adding BIOS to Retroarch ever. Short and sweet

Maybe the emulator could be created in an easy to use way that communicated this important information to the user rather than making it technically challenging and unpleasant for new users? Line dialog saying "put the bios file in the system folder" was all they needed to do.

Very useful video - thank you! I'm running Retroarch on a generic 'pretend' Android TV box, so I couldn't get direct access to the inbuilt storage (without doing funky adb network stuff). I hadn't realised you could set the directory where you want to store your system/BIOS files - that was the key for me. Cheers again!

So I’ve made it to the directory. I have the files downloaded… but I can’t drag them into system, I’m literally unable to drag the files to where they need to be. What can I do? It’s essentially as if my System file is immutable, dolphin emu and mupen64plus are both there but nothing can be added or taken away.

I got to the directory through the RetroArch application, I clicked on window at the top of the screen and then toggled the desktop menu… is there another way that I can access the directory that I didn’t select?

I would very much appreciate help with this.

This is the exact problem I'm having. I put everything I needed into the system file, but when I check the directory tab, it's not there, even if I save the configuration.... it's getting ANNOYING, I'm running this on my 4k firestick
