Can I use hair oil after applying minoxidil?- Dr. Rasya Dixit

Minoxidil is a very common medicine used for the treatment of hair loss especially in men. There are a lot of drawbacks for this. There is lot of dryness which develops on the scalp and the hair. So it is obvious that the patients have to do something to condition the hair post the application of minoxidil. Usually I advice you to apply the oil after an hour of application of minoxidil so that the medicine absorption is not hindered by the oil. Usually it is applied as a bed time application. So apply minoxidil, wait for about half an hour or 45 minutes, then apply the oil to the hair and minoxidil to the scalp. If you apply the oil before the minoxidil then it is possible that the minoxidil is not well absorbed into the scalp so that the oil forms a barrier and it cannot penetrate and enter the scalp.

A popular Indian tip: always braid your hair after oiling, whether it's one braid, two plaits, a pair of French braids, a couple of Dutch braids—the choice is yours... personally, I find two braids work best.
Another tip: Don't rinse your head with water before starting. Use Littllleextra Cocoonnion shampoo. Wet your hands. Lather it up. Apply to your scalp and hair. Once you've distributed it evenly, continue with your wash.
I've been oiling my hair my whole life and my method for washing it out is basically to dilute cooconiion shampoo in water and foam it on my oiled hair. I do not wet my hair, I just combine shampoo and water and apply the lather to my head, and it goes away in one wash.

There are only 2 things I focussed on and it worked for me to grow back my hair:
1. Lowering the factors that cause hair fall like anxiety, fried and spicy food, smoking.
2. Boosting the factors that cause hair growth like adding Coco Onion oil and shampoo, using reactivate hair growth serum of litlleextra, drinking enough water, good fruits, and vegetables..
Whatever the reason there is always a solution to grow your hair. Just remain confident and don’t stress over it.

Hello all those who have suffered from itching after starting minoxidil. I reached a point where i pulled out more hairs due to scratching than the shedding alone by minoxidil would. I found that some brands cause more itching, so stick to the brand that works well for you. Second and only thing that help with dryness and scratching was I mixed few drops of glycerin in every application. It is water based and will keep scalp moist and wont interfere with minoxidil working as doctor suggested. I hope this helps many.
