Refold/MIA - Adding Japanese Pitch Accent to Anki

Thought it would be fun to share how I am adding pitch accent coloring to the refold JP1K deck. Since I'm not exclusively using the migaku or refold method I ended up hacking together their tools, decks, and what not.

I would recommend just following their methods verbatim to make it easier and customizing later if you want. I'm just very picky about what I use and how I use it, so I focus on cobbling together the simplest workflow I can.

Both are awesome and worth the time and effort to research, setup, and follow. They also have discord communities and patreons which I've found very helpful.

Yeah, it’s a cool way! However keep in mind that automatic pitch accent is a bit like automatic furigana. It has maybe 70-90 percent accuracy because it’s done with pretty naïve automatic methods. Don’t let your guard down and always hear how the word is actually pronounced
