Today we show you how to make these incredible chickpea fries and some vegan tzatziki to go with it. This combo is on another level! Both are pretty simple to make and extremely tasty. It would make a great appetizer if you are having people over that would please any palate! We both actually couldn't believe how delicious this combo is.

Have you ever had chickpea fries?

Chickpea Fries recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups water
1 cup chickpea flour
1 tsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
Optional spices:
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Directions:
1. Pour 1 cup of water into a medium sauce pan along with olive oil and salt and bring to a boil.
2. In a separate bowl, add remaining water, chickpea flour, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk together until mostly smooth.
3. Add the chickpea flour mix to the boiling water and turn down to a simmer (medium heat), stirring constantly until it gets very thick. It will take at least 5-6 minutes.
4. Spread the mixture to your desired thickness on a non-stick baking tray or silicone sheet and allow to cool.
5. Once it’s cool, cut into fries and roast at 400 f for 20 minutes, flipping and baking for another 5-10 minutes until the edges turn golden brown and the fries are crispy.
6. Serve hot with your favourite dip!

Vegan Tzatziki
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unflavoured/unsweetened vegan yogurt
1/2 a lemon, juice
1 garlic clove
1/4 cup of soaked cashews (1/4 cup before soaking)
2 tbsp chopped fresh dill
1/4 of a cucumber, grated
1-2 pinches of salt

Directions: 1. Blend the yogurt, lemon juice, and cashews together in a blender until smooth
2. Pour into a bowl and stir in the rest of the ingredients until well mixed.
3. Serve immediately or chill it in the fridge (this helps it thicken up).

I think part of the enjoyment is watching your chemistry and the way you look at each other when you’re excited. You guys really seem to enjoy the moments of sharing the same space.

I just love y’all two!!! Y’all are so stinkin’ adorable…. I was just thinking that while y’all were dancing and being silly - and then you said “why are we like this” “I don’t know, I wish I wasn’t…..” but NO !!! It’s great!!!! Don’t ever change!!! My husband and I have been married for 27 years and we still act silly and have fun!!!

I really like how you mix all ingredients together first, for the chickpea fries, and then add the flour. i think it helps mix better.

I would like to try the chickpea recipe and I would like to try it as a wrap. That's a great idea!!! I've made a chickpea cake b4, it tastes great but is seriously heavy. 😂😂😂

I use mostly mint and a little parsley in my tzatziki, dill doesn’t seem to grow well here. Another tip to make it thicker is to salt your grated cucumber then let it sit in a colander for a while to drain. I can’t wait to make the chips! 😋

This will make a nice change from my usual chickpea paste recipe for French _socca_ (aka farinata on the Italian side of the border). I just adore those little garbanzos in any form...

Thank you so much for this video!
I will have to try the chickpea fries recipe. Cashews can be an issue for me, so I may have to skip that one.

It’s also 11/4/23, and I just watched your 3 videos on alternative tofu recipes, which I was so grateful to learn about, because I can’t have soy. So I just watched your 3 videos on chickpea tofu, black bean tofu, and lentil tofu (non of these use soy!). I look forward to trying those recipes as well. Again, thank you so much for these great (soy free) recipes!

This is wonderful I’m diabetic and I have a friend who is gluten-free. I will be making these and I’m lactose intolerant so the vegan yogurt works too.
