You did a video a while ago comparing how dirty riders got with and without mudguards. Would be good to see the difference after a winter ride or 2 of a ceramic coated and not coated bike and also how much easier the dirt comes off afterwards. Thanks for all the good content!

Great watching a genuine expert in two subjects explain something where they cross over. There are not many people in the world who could have presented this video as well.

Great video. I just refinished / painted a bike and knowing the ceramic will repel the decals was a very important bit of info. I'll decal it first than coat over it.

I do coat my bikes and my cars as well. For my cars I do PPF and ceramic coating, the bikes are just cermaic coated. When they are clean, the shine is incredible. My Aethos has a matte finish and ceramice coating it did not change the look once it was dry.

I know that mine stays much cleaner with a ceramic coating, then using a ceramic detailer between new coatings. Made my older bikes look brand new. Great video, love your work.

I think it looks nice on the matt finish, like a satin look 😎

It would be interesting to see a comparison of this process vs the Silca cleaning system.

I’ve had good results with silicone spray (e.g. Jigaloo) to protect the paint on my steel bike. It buffs up to a slippery high gloss shine that repels dirt. I rarely wash my bike. After a muddy ride, I just let it dry indoors and brush off the dirt and vacuum the floor.

A really helpful and informative video on the subject. Gentle and easy and informative. Thank you very much.

Just look at Ollie's aseptic technique for opening the bottle. Once a scientist always a scientist. Only silanization I've done is glass tubes for doing lipid extraction using chloroform–methanol

Thanks, I had no idea how hat stuff actually worked and I got to watch bike undressing at the same time. I'm a sucker for red and black! ;-)

Great video and it looks a lot easier than PPF to apply

Good video Ollie, I'm ok if my bike gets dirty but, not my chain. Luckily I watched a video about waxing my chain so now my chain is clean while the bike waits for its spring washing.

I’ve done this to my car and loved it. Don’t know why it never doned on me to do it to my bike.

If you really want to get the frame clean use a clay bar with lube to ensure it doesn't scrape or leave swirls them dry off and use alcohol rub before applying the ceramic coat. Remember TROW AWAY the applicator pad and the microfiber towel as once the ceramic coat dry’s it's going to crystallise and then if you use this on your bike it will scrape it to bits.

Great video, very helpful. Do I need a bicycle specific ceramic coat, or can I apply the ones used for cars?
