OR!!!! I don't need my imaginary friend to tell me what's right or wrong... Crazy thought but I can think for myself

Morality to an atheist is believing in the intrinsic value of humans and humanity without the need for a magical divine aspect.

Incorrect. I make moral decisions based on him the fact I don’t want to hurt or upset others not because a God might call me naughty.

"principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviour."

Show me where it says "religious" in there. The idea that I need a relgion to know right and wrong is madness.

"Ah! Without god what is morality??" We look out for each other as a species because we want all of us to succeed. Imo life is more important than death (afterlife)

As a atheist you can rely on cultural and ancestral values; after all religion was just the way our ancestors chose to pass on those values.

Morality is the principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviour. I dont need a sky wizard to tell me that.

If all the books disappeared and you were born again how would you know there was a god

honestly, it just makes nice interactions much better, cause they're doing it out of their own free will, not just because some guy in the clouds told them to

Everyone has morals. What you can't say is that there is one universal morality.

Morility is a social construct (so what is moral vs what is not), but thay doesn't mean it doesn't exist or that you can't be anathiest if you have morals.

I might not believe in a specific god, but on the off chance that I'm wrong there's no harm in being a good person

Morality as a concept is dependent on us. In a universe without living beings capable of interacting, morals simply can't exist. Murder, theft, and other things just don't make any sense without people to be victims/perpetrators of such things.

This means that morality is subjective, it is subject to us. There is no ultimate, objective morality independent of us. THAT'S what Atheists mean when we say morality doesn't exist.

The most difficult thing about atheism is that the atheist is sure of the existence of God, but he constantly forces himself to deny it, because the existence of God is obvious, this huge universe cannot be a coincidence, there is order and harmony in the world. Troubles come to a person at any time and he begs God, and when this trouble is gone, he denies it again. Islam is the last religion. In our religion, Allah helps people and answers those who pray.❤❤

there is a reason why even before religion people took care of their sick within their family which is a 'moral value' so this is rubbish.

Take his bag his phone and his wallet to test this 'theory'.

Does anyone manage to avoid so much available information to come come to this kind of conclusion? Spectacular really

There is no magical mystical force that binds us all together morally.

Each and every individual is the sole arbiter of his or her own morality.

People in these comments make me realise the lack of belief in god is an intelligence thing. To say you are an atheist is to say you only care about yourself, if there is no god then why do we feel guilty doing bad things when no one is watching, who can question your innocence other than god in that moment, and you feel bad. This is due to the subconscious presence of god

The interviewer is creating a strawman: an Atheist is someone who does not believe the claim that a God or Gods exist. It has nothing to say about morality other than an Atheist cannot appeal to a God or Gods as the basis for morality.
