No, I didn't think prayer would work. Sometimes I wonder why Christians ever consider prayer to "cure" disease, or to deal with any problem in the world.

I live in Albany, Ga, and we have more deaths than even Atlanta. Yet, and more than ever, the Christian zealots are praising God for saving lives. What's really frustrating for me is that the televised governmental meetings, whether it's the governor or the locals, continue to tell us to pray to Jesus and have faith, obviously having no problem pushing their faith on all of us and ignoring our Constitution. Worst of all, most people here have absolutely no problem with this. It drives me crazy, especially when logically we should be condemning God for this virus.

At around 27:00, Dan Barker recalled how the pilgrims spread diseases that annihilated almost 90% of the tribes, to one of which he belonged to. I have nothing but respect and admiration for Dan but i was just wondering when he learned about this. Before he became an evangelical pastor or after he became an atheist. My guess is after and his parents did not know about this either or at least kept it from him. :(

The religious use religion to say that god saved them from death, then they say when something bad happens that god works in mysterious ways. I say good things happen and bad things happen because they are random events!

You know, from the age of 8 to 17, I was the most hardcore Christian fundamentalist that you could ever meet.
Now at 19, I honestly believe that religious thinking is one of the largest enemies currently threatening society. LOL.

Hi, I am new to and enjoying your organization / channel. I am lucky enough to have been born into three generations of atheists. There won't be a fourth because none of my four siblings nor I had children. The point is this joke: I am 67 years old, but given the church and child free time saved, I say I am 77 in athiest years or 87 in child-free years.

I remember when, in June 2010, the "King of Kings, " a 65-ft tall statue of Jesus at the Solid Rock Church in Monroe, Ohio was struck by lightning (an Act of God?). It was made from Styrofoam on a steel frame. In essence it was a Holy Lightning rod. Two years later they rebuilt it. Apparently, they did not get the hint.
