Thank you this was very helpful. just upgraded my setup to an A7Sii for some great low light and a sigma art lens, with RS2 gimbal. Stepping deeper into the world of editing and this really helped my understanding of color grading on FCP!

Just discovered your channel as I'm starting to get into automotive photography/videography, and I LOVE your stuff! It's been incredibly helpful. Could you (or have you) cover best practices for matching cars and especially car colors to different backgrounds and settings? For instance, a black car probably looks great against a gray or muted brownish setting (like an urban car garage or maybe birch trees) but less so against greenery. What's best for shooting red cars? Blue? Etc?

Super helpful - thank you! Quick question, which color space do you shoot with? Also what are your views on View Assist for the R5/R6?

Question - did you calibrate your monitor? Or is it just stock and you're going off it?

Highly disagree. Correcting log is not simply just bringing saturation and contrast back, you have to correct the actual color space it was recorded in, which is not naturally 709. That is why you use a corrective LUT because it corrects color values to a specific point. You should be using a CST or Corrective LUT, not doing it yourself.
