How to update android with mobile data

It is important to keep your apps updated even if you don't have access to Wi-Fi. So, in this quick tutorial, I'll show you how to change the settings on an Android phone so that all your Apps and System Software could update through mobile data. Obviously, you could use the same procedure to change back from mobile data to Wi-Fi.

Unfortunately, Samsung Note 20 ultra does not allow you to change these settings! I have an unlocked phone using Verizon as my carrier. It really makes me angry that I am forced to use Wi-Fi when I don't always have access to it! What's wrong with these developers?! At least give us the option!!! I have unlimited data and it pisses me off that I can't use it!

Yeah, I was given none of those options. I have two choices "Cancel" or "Update using WiFi Connection". Even after turning off "Smart Update" in the settings of the update screen, still no other option than WiFi to update. Kinda sucks, because I use my phone data and hotspot for Internet. It costs less to do it that way, so no WiFi unless I go to McDonald's 🤣 to use their free WiFi. Ugh 🤦 not sure how long updating my phone to Android 11 will take, but I don't want to lurk around McDonald's for hours on end 🤣🤣

FYI my phone is a Motorola 5G.

This doesn't work. The option to do this manually with mobile data is not available on S21 ultra, don't know why Samsung deleted this operation.

Can't do this on Samsung galaxy s10 if there's a way can you tell me. I have unlimited data but I have to go to a place with wifi & wait there until the phone updates, very frustrating especially considering this phone can literally do anything but not a simple software update using mobile data!

These options don't exist on my Android. They completely eliminated any option to update using cellular service. I don't understand what they expect you to do if you don't have WiFi available at all.

Why not samsung developer make an option to use mobile data in thier system updates. Big hassle to those who have to go somewhere for wifi connection.

Incredibly silly that they dont allow us to download over 4g/5g. A workaround that worked for me is to connect the phone to a laptop/computer with wifi and enable hotspot mode on the laptop. You can then connect to this new wifi with your phone. had to reconnect a few times as it kept kicking me out but it worked in the end.
