Brake steering. The act of using the brake pedal with your left foot to load the mass forward and off the rear wheels, allowing slippage. It can lock the rear wheels like a handbrake because the brake lines are diagonally linked irl on a lot of Japanese FWD cars. Though it makes the brakes really hot and can make them less efficient on repeated use.

Since the back of hatchback cars is light, it tends to swing the rear part of the curves. When you press the brake while cornering, the vehicle's load will be on the front wheels, so the rear becomes lighter and the vehicle starts to slide from behind.
