i’m convinced with the way Alex speaks that he translates all his video scripts to chinese and then back to english before he reads them.

Fun fact, the FD that you ended up showing is owned by James Deane and has an SR20DET instead of the normal 13B rotary

G35 and hell, even LS400s are great starter drift cars. They have enough power to kick the ass end out (and yes you can 110% drift an automatic). And they may not be great competition cars, but they are great starter cars to introduce you to the feeling of drifting.

83 fb w/12a. 188k miles, plates were split at 140k for the first and only time for a corner seal leak then resealed as is. Still to this day turn key year round with a working omp, no premixing. Rotarys are reliable if you maintain them like every car needs with the single exception of plugs and oil changes a little more frequently.

The g platform is an excellent way into drifting don’t give it a bad name because some takeover kids hit people with them

There's a dude who runs a non turbo Z31 drift car, and all he's done is coilovers. It drifts like a professional Forumla D car.

The Z platform has always been a solid platform

z31 is actually a fantastic candidate for a drift car with the na being 50/50 weight dis and the turbo a 51/49

Every time this dude opens his mouth i realize how little he knows about vehicles.

The z31 platform isn’t really very heavy in base 2+0 config. No airbags, no traction control, no abs, cheap parts. Only issue is support.

The z31 300zx isnt tough to work on at all, thats just his older brother. It does lack serious aftermarket though so I still wouldnt recommend it to a rookie.

Here in South Africa we love the BMW E30's and E36's, they are light enough, have enough power to get that rear end sideways and easy enough to work on

G35 is one of the best drift platforms. Infinite aftermarket support, low entry cost, and they excel at going sideways. The FC RX-7 is a great affordable platform if you know your rotaries. The 300zx is a fair point though.

As someone who drifts, the 350z and v6 mustangs from the 2000s are cheap options that have tons of parts and people who know how to work on them if you are trying to get into drifting

A light car with a 1.6 to 2.0 4 cyl is the best way to drift cheap. Rear wheel if you want to drift on easy mode.

I learned to drift on a 2000 ford ranger. Anytime it rained the truck would drift every corner without me trying and I learned to correct it safely. After a while I said screw it and made it slide on purpose when the road was wet.

I got older and I thought it the constant drifting was annoying so I got an actual car with traction control, couldn’t make it spin out of you tried.

I got older older and realized the new computer car isn’t so fun and my plan is to sell it off and drop a new engine in the old ranger. It’s still in my yard all it needs is an engine, I’d daily that any day and it took me like 8 years to realize it.

Older RWD Volvos, especially the I6 or the I4 Turbo models, are another decent pick. Super easy to work on, amazing parts availability (volvo still make parts for older models), and both cheaper to repair and more reliable than BMWs. The N/A i4 models are a bit underpowered, but they can often be picked up so cheaply that an engine swap might be within your budget if you're not getting a BMW. If you're in Sweden, were most Nissan sports cars are somewhat rare, old Volvos are what I'd recommend. Many also came with an LSD out of the box, since Nordic winters with an open diff might be less than ideal.
