Comparing the S197 to the S550 platform. Why i prefer the S197

I went from a ‘13 Boss302 to a ‘16 GT350 to my current ‘14 GT500. I feel like I’m home again with the S197. More comfortable interior- and way more fun to drive. The GT350 was so strong in handling that it became boring… maybe strange but for me true. And yeah - S197 looks badass while next gen is pretty. No winners or losers here … comes down to personal preference

13/14 GT, Boss 302 and GT500 will probably be the most sought after Mustangs in the future. I think the 13/14 GT500 will be more sought after than a 20-23 GT500 in the future.

Good video man.2 yrs ago I found my dream car (one of) for a steal. 2014 5.0 with 33k miles. I had a choice between it and a 2017 for around the same miles. I bought the 14 best decision I ever made.

I like S550 because of the IRS, and I do agree with the styling difference. The S197 is more appealing to me. I myself own 2012 Mustang.

I think a lot of guys tend to hold strong preferences for the cars that were new when they were fresh out of high school or thereabouts. I personally like them all, but prefer certain things about certain cars. To me, the New Edge is an awesome all around daily driver simply for its looks, size, cheap mods, and lack of sophistication. It feels like an old car and I really appreciate that. For looks, I think the early S197 cars is tough to beat. Performance? S550 is where it’s at. Anything prior to the New Edge has a nostalgic vintage quality that is cool, but the three latest generations cover all practical bases for my preferences. Best overall? Whichever one was the hot car when you were 18-21. That’s my take.

Just bought a 6speed 2018 gt with 60k miles for less than $30k about 2 months ago. Already came with FBO's, lowered, wheels and nitto nt555 305's in the rear a tremec t56 magnum Trans swap (so no Trans issues that people keep talking about) and front splitter with canards, side skirts and rear diffuser. I'm liking it so far. I want to put some bead locks on it more so just for looks. I do agree it doesn't really look like a muscle car compared to last generation but at least it still sounds and performs like one 😉

I drove a 2015 mustang gt when it came out, and i drove a friends GT350 R.I have a 2014 GT500.Now the GT350 R handles alot better than mine.I like the front end looks of the GT350 R.The new ford performance gt500 looks like shit in the front!!The 13-14 GT500 looks 100% better to me, and it has the bigger motor.I prefer the style of the S197 over the S550 as well.

The S550 is a American sports car, the S197 is Ford’s last American muscle car. If you want the rough edges of a muscle car then go S197, if you want a smooth sports car feel go S550. I personally prefer a the S197. I prefer to be connected to the road and feel it through the car with the S550 something seems to be missing. Again just my opinion.

I own a 12 gt 5.0. s197 imo is a better chassis. Always a fan of a solid rear axle. Styling is better. Interior is comfortable.
