Even with the tick, those engines don't fail. They keep on running. It is a better car than a Camaro in almost every aspect.

Gen 1 coyote in 11-12, gen 1.5 in 13-14. Changed from 412 to 420hp at the 13yr not 12. Gen 2 coyote is 15-17 and gen 3 coyote in 18-present.

I have a 2011 3.7 convertible. Best of both worlds! 305hp and 31mpgs highway. 102k and it runs like new. I am a long time Subaru guy, but I am enjoying the Stang!

I doubt you have ever actually owned an S197...broken clutch forks? Spitting spark plugs from the heads? Just to name a few. S197’s have a hydraulic clutch, ie, no clutch fork. And, 3v’s don’t spit plugs, it’s quite the opposite.

You don’t have to remove the 4.6L engine out of the car just to replace the timing components you can also replace the oil pump with the engine in the car I did it on mine

I've had my 07' GT CS since it was new, currently at 74, 000mi, the only mechanical problems I've had was a alternator replaced in 15' & a e-brake, cosmetically the paint on the hood front lip rusted & chipped, on the top of the side scoops clear coat & paint wore away, headlight fogged, door interior leather trim came loose & strangely on the rear view mirror, the mirror material became de-laminated, plus multiple recalls on the airbags, twice on the passenger side. Fortunately the cars been repainted and the other issued have been addressed.

Glad I got me a 2010 gt. I seem to avoid most of the issues prior and after that year. Sounds like 07 to 10 models are blessed when it comes to that stuff other than the common stuff that all mustangs might get.

I for one am happy that Hau Thai-Tang designed these cars. Had it been left up to the usual designers it would have never had the cool factor retro look. Sid as well did a fantastic job with interior design and did not overdo it.

I have an 07 Mustang GT with 160k miles on it.

Did a timing rebuild at 150k miles. Did it myself. It wasn't too bad. Also needed new VCT solenoids. Only cost me about $800 total for parts. The transmission also went out at 140k miles and that was a super expensive repair. Over 5 grand for refurbished trans with 3 year warranty parts and labor. Other than those two things, everything has been just usual maintenance and small repairs here and there. Have never had any problem with sparkplugs. No problems with rust. If it wasnt for the trans not making it past 140k, I'd say its held up well, but that really kicked it down a notch. Theres no transmission dipstick to check so if youre thinking about buying one with 140k-ish miles on it. Just be aware of that. The motor itself feels like it is running very strong though.

Not sure about the 2011 and up mustang gts but the 05 gt with a manual has been pretty good to me. The transmission is sloppy with long throws but with regular fluid changes it does the job reliably.
The wear on my car has mostly been the oppressive Florida sun. The dashboard cracked in the half. The leather seat is wearing. The paint is starting to fail even with regular car washes and paint sealant applications.
Mechanically I’ve had the piñon seal of the differential leak. 2 alternators blew up. A purge valve replacement. And needed to clean the throttle body once due to the car stalling coming to a stop light.
To avoid timing chain issues I regularly change the oil ever 6 months or 4000 miles with Pennzoil ultra platinum oil. Keep the engine oil clean and most mechanical engine issues at bay.

Air handling servos often fail in all years. Replacing the drinker side is a pain but can be done, whereas changing the driver's side is a nightmare that requires a heat gun to soften the air duct in order to reach one small fastener!

Debs husband says I have owned my 2006 Gt for almost 3years and my repairs have been replacing the valve body on the auto transmission. I replaced the end links to the stabilizer bar and replaced the fuel pump. My biggest problem was getting a fuel pump that was reliable. That is not the cars fault but the result of poorly made parts. I first put on a Spectra pump and it wouldn't make pressure out of the box. Then I went through 2 Delphi pumps that would not maintain fuel pressure. Finally I had a Motorcraft pump installed and presto! Problem solved! I realize that with anything mass produced there are going to be good ones and bad ones so I am not saying that Spectra and Delphi pumps are not good pumps I am just stating my experience.

Keep in mind the 4.6 makes 320 lb ft vs the 3.7 V6 making like 280. That's a decent difference

Seems like this dude got the 4.0s and 3.7s mixed up. Not with the issues mentioned, but how he talks about the 3.7 first with the early years and mentions the 4.0 later years.

14 GT convertible - only problem so far is a plastic gear in the driver’s side power seat. Gear stripped and left the seat immovable. Big problem since I’m 6’2” and my wife is 5’3”. Searching online I found this is not uncommon. Fortunately, Ford realized this and started selling a repair kit - basically just the failing part. Before, you had to buy the whole seat track assembly - big bucks. I installed it myself, kind of a pain cause you have to remove the seat from the car.

sooo i have a 2008 mustang gt and ive had it for about a year now and the only problem ive had with jt is the alternator giving out other than that its been running pretty smooth, she has 195k miles on and its still hauling ass 😂, i do plan to rebuild the engine pretty soon tho and thats because i just fell in love, she hasn’t gave out to many problems oh also the cam phaser bolt did break and its still broken i have a check engine on but i just haven’t had time to fix it yet also everything on it is still dead stock except for the back tail lights and the alternator i upgraded to a sr performance one with a performance wire but yeah all in all in all she is about to hit 200k soon and still running very well which im very thankful for 😂

The 5 speed tranny's in the 2005 - 2010's were far more reliable the the 6 speed tranny's that came in the 2011 - 2014's...
