The UK is a much happier place on a Sunday morning now that Paul's Hardware News fix is back.

Paul, you said it best. There is NO replacement for your installments of tech news. I thoroughly enjoy watching these videos. Thanks for the effort and time you put into them!

New intro, new episode, same great Joe & Paul. Excellent indeed. Thanks for my Midwest Youtube nightcap🎉!

Yes!!! The best part of waking up is some fresh Paul's News, Captain Crunch and a cat on my chest. I love the new intro, Paul & Joe. And that backdrop on the briefs segment, pure genius 👌. Nice way to show the logos.
I tip my hat to you both, kind sirs.
Wait, just a nod, my hairpiece is attached to said hat! How embarrassing 😳.
Welcome back guys. Just remember, we appreciate what you do for us.

Getting Tech News from 5 or 6 sources, typically yours drops towards the back of it, I really appreciate the creativity/effort that goes into cramming all the light-hearted humor/innuendo into it. While your news comes later that other outlets, I always enjoy it the most! Keep up the great work, Paul ^_^

Paul, I agree on the odd look of Corsair's "side mounted" power cables PSU. But I think it might work well in HTPC cases, where you're trying to fit the footprint of more traditional theater and audiophile components. Sadly, "few if any" such cases exist anymore.

Thanks for this video and all of the badass CES coverage this past week!

I think I am going to hold off on upgrading to AM5.

I've been using my Ryzen 5 3600x for the past two years with an RTX 2080 ti and now RTX 3080.

Going to a 5000 series card I'll see a fairly large jump in performance but the jump from 5000 to 7000 doesn't seem it's worth the money to upgrade the motherboard and ram.

Met a John Deere Tech. They like to laugh at how they do unnecessary repairs to make more money. This is a real thing in Iowa. They were courting me to become one. Needless to say I backed out.

12:06 this design can be easily improved by just having a deep groove on the side where these connectors are, so once you plug those cables in, the plastic parts are still flush with the width of the psu. Corsair can even make a "cover" of some sort for this side or simply asome cable routing points/tunnel.

"V Day would be just slightly less depressing for PC building enthusiasts" LOL.

The sideways PSU is interesting. I have two cases which would benefit: One is the old Cooler Master HAF XB EVO. Long PSU in it will bump wires into the PCB on the back of the hot-swap drive bays (which I have removed as a result). The other is an open "Nano" case from Dimastech which has the PSU installed from the side. I use an SFX there, but sideways ports would route full-size PSU wires better. That said, those are relatively obscure examples in today's market.

I just got a 7700x last year after discounts. I figure I’ll wait to get a 3D chip when the final 3D chips are announced for the socket. I knew their would be delays with these and I needed to upgrade my pc.

Great summary. And spot on calling out the manufacturers for what it does to your schedule to do reviews at this time of year! Happy New Year good sir!

To my mind, the biggest problem with the AM5-platform at the moment is motherboard prices. I'm not a fan of motherboards costing as much as or more than the CPU you're using.
